not scientific obviously, but a board measure of what we think the attendance will be.

Start over with the minimum being 1 to 50

That would be more realistic.

Good idea....I really think that the attendance will in that range.

Hope I am wrong, but I don't see it as being much more than that.

I guess I got the honor of posting the first vote. I guess that now everyone can start taking pot shots at me.

Let the fireworks begin.

I just don't have a whole lot of hope for the attendance in that game.

Heck, right now, if you told me there would be 500 to 1000 there, I would be thrilled.

Got call it a night Bearfan...just had a few minutes. I'll talk to you tomorrow.

There will be about 3 fans travelling with ENMU.

Last year, average attendance in Estes stadium (for 5 home games) was 6939. Sounds decent, but you have to take into consideration you've got the huge matchup with an undefeated Tech team to end the season which drew 10,032 ... take that away and your average dips by 12%. Attendance for two otherwise lackluster games (IWC and OBU) were saved by the fact they were, respectively, the home opener and homecoming. Then you get the bonus of one of the few 'name' teams in DII in this region, the eventual national champions no less, into town and that's going to be a big draw.

And the other home game was with Harding, which brought a good crowd. And why wouldn't they? The Bisons were 5-1, hadn't been to UCA in a bit, it's an hour away and they hate the Bears with all the fervor 4,000 radical christians can muster.

So really, you can't even expect a typical home, Estes Stadium crowd to be 6,500 or so on a regular basis. It could happen, but it's not something I'd bet on. Two years ago with 6 home games (Abilene Christian, HSU, UAM, SAU, SUWG, UWA) the average crowd was 4,536. That's a 35% dropoff. Your two-year average is 5737.

And that's in Conway. What do you expect to pull in Little Rock? All of your Conway people aren't going to come, although most will. You'll get some in LR who wouldn't come to Conway, but how do those two figures balance out? Is it a wash or is there a heavy lean one way or the other? I don't think there's any way of proving it either way, but I get this feeling you won't see a great spike in attendance just because it's in Little Rock when you're playing Eastern New Mexico.

Not enough casual fans are going to care enough to watch UCA and ENMU do battle to see a significant attendance increase. Nate Brown and Steven Hinson don't get the football blood boiling quite like Matt Jones and Eli Manning. If UAPB - a local I-AA rival - could only get it up to the 15,000 range, then you can't expect anything near that for ENMU. Not even half.

And, that early in a season with an opponent of that caliber students aren't going to flock to Little Rock. The hardcore ones will go, but you won't get a lot else. They hardly come to Estes. When they do, they stay a quarter then break out.

But enough breaking stuff down and trying to be scientific. I'll just factor in coming off a better season, a little more interest in the program overall and call it ... 5,700.
