FCS Semi-finals Rating spreads from Sagarin (Sagarin ratings results 1-1 this week and 175-55 season to date) NOTE - Top 3 FCS Conferences are: MVFC at 55.72; Big Sky at 52.50; UAC at 49.89 MVFC remains 16th in all of D1 out of 28 . FCS Playoffs - Round 4: (1-1) - FCS Rankings Noted Below 12/15, 6pm, ESPN2: #9 UAlbany @ #1 South Dakota State by 23, 0-59 12/16, 3:30pm, ESPN2: #8 North Dakota State by 3 @ #2 Montana, 29-31 2OTs Did not get watch either game but listened to Q4 of the NDSU game...defensive stalemate thru Q3 with Grizzilies leading 10-9 battle......built lead in Q4 to 16-7 on a long punt return for TD then failed on 2-point conversion...NDSU down to a 4th and 6 with about 3 minutes to go from their 24...lined up to punt and then ran the ball for a 1st down and got a 15 yd penalty to M42...which turned into a TD with about 51 seconds left.....2 pt good....Griz able to burn clock down to 10 and punted.....NDSU let clock expire....Bisons scored on 1st play of OT and kicked PAT for 23-16 lead...Grix took 2 plays to score then the PAT....now 23-23.....Griz then took 3 plays to score and scored the 2 pt conversion on a tipped double pass with face mask penalty on the passer....now up 31-23..Bison then scored in two plays...now 31-29 Montana...NDSU 2 pt attempt failed....sounded like a terrific ball game... Congrats to Montana QB Clifton McDowell on a great season and a trip to Frisco!! |

I do expect them to lose in the finals because South Dakota state is just loaded. I know some folks think less of these kids when they leave. This is a perfect example of go where your style of play works. Congrats to that young man. |

Anyone think UCA fans will travel to Pine Bluff for the September 21st game? Hopefully it's a night game. Going to be warm and muggy I bet! |
