I know it's on ESPN3, but I don't know about any other channels.

Finally, it's here. Neither team stumbled, and we get the showdown we've been looking ahead to all year.

UCA has to play a clean game. If we come out and have 10+ penalties and put the ball on the ground 3-4 times, forget about it. SHSU is too good to give them extra cracks at the endzone, and we will lose by several touchdowns.

For the sake of argument, let's assume each brings their A game and the refs actually do what they are supposed to do...

Offensively, this is a good matchup for UCA. SHSU has given up a lot of rushing yards to some very suspect rushing attacks throughout the year, and UCA's pro-style attack has the potential to use a lot of clock and wear on the defense. We will probably start "slow" and try to establish the run game, but if SHSU jumps out early, we may have to abandon it to keep pace. Hopefully, we mix it up, and SHSU loads the box where we can exploit some play-action early on.

SHSU is the best offense we have seen this year. They play wide open, no huddle and have no mercy. It will be absolutely crucial for the D-Line to create havoc in the backfield which we know they are more than capable of doing. As for the secondary, they have been beaten a lot this year, and they will get beat again on Saturday, but the question will be can they limit those losses and make a few plays and force some turnovers which has been their calling card in backing up the best bear front 7 in recent memory. I'll take getting beat over the top some if we can create some turnovers, and against this offense, that will be necessary to containing SHSU. If this turns into a shootout, bears will get left behind.

Bears have played their best games on the road, and I suspect they will be ready again in a tough environment. We rallied in front of 26,000 in Jonesboro, dominated in front of 10,000 in Lake Charles, and Bowers stadium will offer nothing more than what we've already seen. As well as I think the bears will play, the inconsistent offense may bite them in this game. The bear offense has been consistently inconsistent all year no matter how good the opposing defense is, and I envision us being down 7 or 10 points late having to score to stay alive. I hope I'm wrong...

SHSU - 31
UCA - 27

I can't see Sam's offense being better than A-State's from a talent perspective.
And I can't see Sam's defense being better than A-state, McNeese or Nicholls.

I know that Sam is avg. 53 points a game and have a prolific offense but the Bears
have one of the better defenses in the FCS. Somethings got to give.

UCA has played press man coverage all year and taken away the run to make teams one dimensional...but Sam's strength seems to be the passing game.
Will the Bears come out with some different D packages on Saturday to combat
the Bearkat O or will they continue with their scheme that has worked all year?

And don't forget the most important stat...The Bears play much better on the
road than they do at home...

Bears 37
Kats 34

Foot and Parkhill both make good points. I think if the score is in the 30's or below, our Bears have a terrific chance to win, if it gets in the 40's or above, not so much.

SHSU 36

Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. This one's for a championship.

I read the posts here and this one is going to be hard to call. With SHSU offense being a two headed monster, you take away one aspect of our game get ready for the other. Oh and don't forget about that Mer-Ferkin Flea Flicker!!!! lol

This game is so hard to predict, therefore, I'm not going to make one. It truly depends on what Bear team shows up. If it's the one that gets over 100 penalty yards, then we don't win, but if we play sound ball with our defense that is more than capable of shutting anyone down, we win! GO BEARS!

Former UCA standout wide receiver and Head Coach Mike Norvell and his
Memphis Tigers beat the BEARCATS of Cincinnati last night 34-7

I hope this is a good omen for the Bears vs. the Bearkats today in Huntsville.
