Keys to victory:

Control the clock - Bears need a strong running game and high 3rd down conversion rate to keep the Bearkats offense off the field. Maybe time to turn Carlos loose?
No turnovers
Tyler Williams - basis last night Sam will think that Nicholls exposed an opportunity to
exploit one on one coverage and will try to pick on him
Fewer penalties - unbelievable amounts the last two weeks. Given the numbers prior, I don't believe the Bears are undisciplined. I just hope the refs don't think they are the focus of the game.
Strong kicking game- Ponder has been great punting, but our field goal accuracy needs to pick up. We are missing short range kicks and that will eventually get a team beat.
Play Bear typically strong defense and get some pressure.
Hopefully, D. Smith is healthy :D

Bears will win this game, but it will be a battle.

Hopefully the UCA offense can get it going early in this game.
Sammy will more than likely put up some points...even though they
haven't seen a defense this good all year. I believe the Bearcats are
in for a shock...

Sam's strength of schedule is deplorable, no FBS, no strong out of conference FCS, no Southeastern Louisianna.... I think the Jury is still out on Sam, but it's entirely possible they were just saving it all for UCA & Playoffs.

That's how you stay undefeated and ranked high and guarantee home field advantage through the playoffs. Selection committee should take that into
consideration. Panhandle State and Texas Southern...Come On Man [-X

This game is very winnable, as long as we clean up our penalties from the last two games. Yes, Sam has a potent offense, but I can honestly say that they haven't faced a defense like ours all season. I feel good about our chances as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with stupid penalties, plus we have been playing better on the road this season!

9-1 (8-0)! GO BEARS!

Agree. If score is in the 30's or less, I like our chances.
Need to limit their explosives plays and pound them.

We are gonna have to mix it up versus SHSU. Nsu had some success passing against them, so with our weapons we shld be able to establish a pass game. Not sure about their defense, but Nicholls was intent on stopping the run, and limited us on the ground. I think a nice balanced attack is what it will take. They have ability to score in bunches, qb has thrown 45 tds!! And o-line is pretty good. We just need a good game plan and we can win the game.

Sam Houston offense is good and runs very quickly. No huddle and they hurry to line after each play. McNeese put up points on them at will in the second half, but could not stop their offense. McNeese actually outscored Sam Houston in second half, but could not defend against quickness and their passing (good receivers are always in position and make unbelievable catches).

They are beatable (and will most likely be beaten in playoffs with any team that has a good defense). If Bears can pass defense, you can beat them, but you will probably have to put up a lot of points early and often, because Sam can and will score from passing all over the field.

I hope you beat them, but it will take all four quarters playing fast and accurate in both offense and especially defense.

Btw, pretty dang excited about this game. Win or lose, hope both teams come out injury free. Just curious what's the biggest RB UCA has faced so far? Our 6'2" 250lbs TE has been getting touches with the 1st string during the past couple games. Guy runs with bad intentions.

Equally excited about this matchup (dare I say it rivalry), so much on the line, Conference Championship, Rankings, & Playoff implications. It's been a great season to watch, although I must admit the rest of SLC was weak this year (Nichols excluded). Regardless of outcome I hope for a deep playoff run by both teams!
