I think Bama takes a step back this year. Not sure if it will be enough for FSU to win...

SHSU scares me more than K-State. Key to beating a hitch and go team like that is to get to the QB and make him make mistakes and force throws. Should be a good game Friday, but I'd say SHSU wins comfortably by 14-21 points.

Well it is obvious that fans of UCA FOOTBALL no longer us this forum to post
their opinion any longer...Hopefully they are still supporters and use another
social medium to convey their support. The Bears played a FBS top 20 team
last night and had a lot of issues come to light...but when you look at the
stats it makes you take a closer look at the outcome...I for one am encouraged
by the performance and am looking forward to the next one...........

As to results this weekend............

UCA by far had the toughest opener...........K-State not only ranked FBS 20 but rated at 84.....next highest opponent was La Tech for NWS...other Arkansas D1 teams opening opponents were rated.........78 (Nebraska) , 30 (FL A&M), D-2 (Morehouse)........kudos to A-State for a good showing at Nebraska........

Based on Sagarin ratings, Top 6 in SLC starting out was......

SHS at 60
UCA at 54
MSU at 49
SLU at 45
NSU at 40
SFA at 39

After some gyrations in looking at actual margins and ratings of opponents, I estimate new Top 6 would be..........

SHS...........good win over a good team rated at 58
UCA.....played K-State close to what ratings suggested........
SLU ....nearly beat Lafayette rated 59........did much better than expected
NSU .......outperformed ratings BUT was at home
MSU.......fell short on the road.......had to be disappointing to Cowboys
ACU and NWS.......Demons much better vs Tech (this is THE rivalry game for Demons)

What looked like a SHS/UCA only battle just got more interesting with SLU and NSU results......

While I like the #9 ratings, the SRS seems anything but simple........maybe "simpler" but my head hurts trying to follow the formula...........

Also, other than Illinois State and Richmond, I do not see any obvious lower ranked teams that I would put near UCA.......maybe Villanova but they barely squeaked by Lehigh in week 1...........not sure I would see as any teams above UCA as a sure fire winner over the Bears........
