I am at home keeping warm. My buddies Doc (who posted on this forum earlier in the week) and CBuck76 will be there at the game. They posted a message on FB yesterday from Shreveport saying how cold it was where they were!

A hot bowl of red beans and rice will be mighty tasty in the cold temps!

Great night to be a Bear.

Game reactions:

Hildebrand had about as perfect of a night as he could have.
Offense looked great overall.

Defense would give up the big plays but played stingy for most of the night.

Special teams plays made a huge difference.

All in all, another huge win with a team that is rolling. The good things are that the hardest games are behind us. We have 3 of the lowest rated teams left (record-wise). The men just need to stick to the game plan, execute, and not look ahead from the current game.

Go Bears!

Dang! I was hoping for a somewhat closer game.

The Cowboys outgained the Bears by almost 100 yards, and stuffed the Bears running game for most of the night. Our special teams disasters and our quarterback's fumbles, turned the momentum, and killed us, along with (but related to special teams) poor field position all night long. And the Bears had NO turnovers.

With that said, the Bears took advantage of everything!

I doubt you guys will have any trouble with the remaining part of your SLC schedule, so good luck in the playoffs. The Cowboys could win out and finish with two losses, but our strength of schedule and this blowout loss to y'all probably won't sit well.

My biggest complaints: some questionable ball placements by the officials. I wish our coach would have challenged/asked for reviews. Also, though it would not have made any difference, I do believe Shelby had a TD. It looked like he had the ball secured and that it was not knocked away until he was out of bounds. Again, our coach should have asked for a review. Forgive any errors, but I'm typing this at the crack of dawn.

Did not expected a 30 point win. ..the Q1 did not surprise me as it looked like a slugfest in the making. Bears defense started playing for real about 12 to go in Q2 and we had great field position as result. Obviously Cowboys were bent on stopping the run game which they did but our many receivers were just too much to cover at the same time. O-line had a few challenges at times but overall gave HH enough time to find someone breaking open and he was deadly on target. Ponder was masterful punting all night was coverage. Seemed like Odom was in on every play.

McNeese RBs were hosses to bring down...........surprised they did not throw 20 times to #40 as he was one tough guy to tackle.........

Their #79 was a huge guy but looked pretty smooth on the tackle eligible catch (or was that illegal touch......I never did understand the flag that was thrown on the play).

Have to give the SLC officials credit........I always learn more rules watching the odd penalties they call..........

Attendance was 9887............just cold enough to keep the casual fan away...........they missed a great performance by the Bears......

PS - hats off to Matt Whiting and Cafe 501 for the red beans and rice served in the Purple Circle hospital room on the west side and in the suites

PSS - BMB "plays" to the end and always does their part............

Congrats on the win, guys!! You pretty much handed our asses to us. As far as McNeese, "We suck again!!" ;)

Good luck in the playoffs and make some noise in the playoffs for the conference. I will pulling for you guys.

As I said before every game is a championship game since we beat Sam Houston. Lou Holtz said " Any given Saturday one team can defeat another." On the schedule you would think the Bears will win the last three. I really do have faith in my Bears and I know they have a target on their backs. The next three teams will train four time as hard to make a statement at the Bears expense. One game at a time. Sorry Doc but McNeese does not suck! The Cowboys are a very good football team and the scoreboard does not reflect that. For the Bears A+ to the defense. A+ to the offense.

Go Bears beat Cardinals

I really enjoyed reading ZemsGems this week. His recap had me interested in the stats from the game, so I took a quick look.

Once the game is well in hand, Coach Campbell tends to go ultra conservative and run time off the clock. My belief is that he has no intention of embarassing any team by hanging 60 points on them and it's is a sign of respect and sportsmanship. Glad he coaches our team.

Welcome back to Trey..........

Doc........agree with PapaBear re Cowboys.......they are much better than the score showed............I never really felt we had a big enough lead until very late............

Glad Coach Campbell coaches Bears for a lot of reasons........I really am impressed how he comes back to the o-line after every series and does a 3 minute teaching session..........the guys give him their undivided attention.................

Wasn't there some kind of chili cookoff for this game in the past? I thought it also raised money for charity. We sure could have used it Saturday in that cold. I mean who wouldn't want McNeese fans driving up from Louisiana to bring up REAL cajun food???!!! Oooo-weee! =D> Let's get that going for next year at McNeese! =D>
