Coach Campbell is in his fourth year as head coach for UCA.

Year Overall Conf. Playoff

2014 6-6 5-3
2015 7-4 7-2
2016 10-3 8-1 1-1
2017 6-1 5-0

Total 29-14 25-6 1-1

Pct. .674 .806 .500

Winning conference games at a 80% clip ain't bad.

If you think about it:

6 of 14 losses were in his year 1.
3 of the losses were to FBS schools.
So far, 2016 and 2017 have only 1 conference loss.

We have quickly trended in the right direction. Now, I am a realist and know we will not always have years like last year and this year. But I believe that under Coach Campbell we’ll enjoy a lot more years like this than not.

Did anyone get to go to the LR club and hear what Coach said?

I'm hearing rumblings that Campbell is on the short list for the Ole Miss HC job...

Anyone else hearing this? Hoping it's fabricated, but I would imagine he will start getting phone calls if he hasn't already.

I think its Matt Campbell of Iowa State..not Steve.

It could be Campbells soup for all their fans care...I mean they lost to Arkansas. You've hit rock bottom when you lose to a pig team that is having this kind of year.

Have to agree that it is probably not our coach. Not many FBS schools of that size would be willing to hire a coach from the FCS ranks as a head coach. A coordinator, yes, but not a head coach.

Now, a non Power 5 school maybe. But probably not Ole Miss.

A-State fans seem to think he is high on Troy's list, and they expect that job to be open soon.

Well the average head coach at most levels stays what? Like 5 years or so. I mean Steve has been coaching since 1988 or thereabouts so he's almost 30 years into the process. Troy would be a good fit for him to make some cash and retire. I mean the head coach of Troy makes $660,000 according to one site. UCA can't match that...but neither can 8 other Sunbelt schools according to that site. If he leaves we wish him the best of luck. But leave us with an FCS championship before you go! =D>

Thanks for the feedback. It did sound a bit far-fetched, but Troy sounds a lot more fitting. I guess that assumes Troy's coach is expected to take another position. The college coaching carousel is crazy

Well he is a Troy alumni so there is a connection.

Don't forget that it is not out of the question that the A-State job will open up this year, and after last year, and the success he is having this year he will get a look.

Most think they will again focus on another up and coming P5 Coordinator, and NC State's OC Eli Drinkwitz, who is a Arkansas Tech grad, and who was Co-OC under Bryan Harsin when he was at A-State, is a name being mentioned.

I also look for them to be offering something in the range of 1 to 1.2 Million for their next coach, or to keep Anderson. They offered Malzahn 1.2 million to stay.

Heck there is a chance Malzahn will be looking to return to Arkansas this year.

Should be an interesting off season, but keep on winning and good things will happen.

I sure would love to keep Coach Campbell around if we could. This may be a pipe dream with the possible openings happening this offseason, and his success here over the past 4 years. This current staff has done a great job over the past 2 years in particular. If I’m not mistaken we had zero turnover on our staff from last year to this year. That helps keep programs established in winning ways IMO.

I am hoping to keep him around for sure because we have something special. Great group of men working for our university. But if something was to happen i fully trust in Dr Teague. He has made great decisions on hires in all sports over the years!

UCA is fortunate to have both Dr. Teague and Coach Campbell. Hope we can
hold on to both for many years to come...
