JRK you are right. Another championship game in Beaumont TX. Not taking anyone for granted means you train harder than ever. I hope the Bears are not complaisant. We will see a swarm of cardinals Saturday and we better be ready. Our Bears is a great football team and they can win providing that the Bears don't overlook anyone. I want to see the Bears play at Frisco TX at seasons end. Go Bears Go

Papa

Per the Lamar board it looks like they are missing a TON of players apart from the ones that graduated last year:

Quote:
This year's Lamar football team is lacking in depth to the point where they are playing a bunch of guys who aren't ready. My concern is why so many players with remaining eligibility off last year's team are no longer on the team. I know guys leave for a lot of reasons but, by my count, there are 21 players gone who had eligibility remaining. Given the limited number of scholarships at the FCS level, that seems like a lot. Gone from last year's roster are:
TE DC Arceneaux
DB Jalen Barners
LB Jarett Carpenter
LB Mike Coats
OL John Craven
DB Kevin Davis
DB Blake George
OL Joseph Gonzales
LB Cameron Hampton (has played this year)
WR Shane Hudson
WR Jordan Jones
RB Austin Krautz
DB Cardell Lue
OL Kanon Mackey (transferred from place new coach left)
TE Sam McGee
TE Duncan McVey (gave up football due to injuries)
OL Barrett Myers
OL Blaine Myers
OL Joshua Persohn
OL Trevon Simpson
WR Clayton Turner

7 -- OL
4 -- DB
3 -- TE
3 -- LB
3 -- WR
1 -- RB

Another 19 players exhausted their eligibility last year.

I predict the opposite of the HBU game against a more inferior opponent. Teams as senior laden and well coached as the bears rarely have large letdowns more than once a year.

We'll run, run and run some more while hitting a few play-actions for big gains. Defense should have no trouble.

UCA - 45
Lamar - 10

I visited with coach Stewart today and he said " do not overlook anyone." " One game at a time." Lets get through Lamar first.

Go Bears, Papa

Kind of sputtering out of the gate this week once again, but I’m sure we’ll recover like usual.. Also, no one is live tweeting this game on any of the UCA accounts. Kind of annoying, every other school has someone who does that. Occasional lack of support for this program from the school is kind of frustrating sometimes.

where is Roman Gordon? I went to practice Wednesday and was a bit concerned when I didn't see him and now he's not in the game either. Sloppy, sloppy first half but maybe we continue to run it well and decide this early

Post game thoughts:

These announcers were horrible! Were they even paying attention to the game?

We seem to start slow, but we make incredible adjustments early on. We may get away with hat the rest of this season but it may hurt us in the playoffs.

Run game was on fire! And it was great to see our backups and future starters get decent playing time. Breylin looked good tonight!

Wife and I are scouting out whether we can make it to San Antonio next week.

NDSU lost and should bump us up.

Go Bears!

Seems like we were intent on winning by running only.............radio says Lamar had 8 in the box a lot..........330+ rushing plus 220+ passing was the ticket......defense was tremendous......again.......good that Brelyn got to play all of Q4 plus some of Q3 at QB.............Go Bears!!
