Apparently he has now been hired as an assistant professor in the Music Department...? I'm confused...I sure hope there was a position open and one wasn't created for him. #-o

A comment in the LCD mentioned that they fired the Music chair. The inference was that this would allow GB to assume the chair after the dust clears and return his salary to six figures. Good to have friends in high places.

Feel bad for the individual who was chair and their family, if they got caught up in a political mess. The current chair has been in that position for years and was doing a good job according to those in the department.

Maybe the title of this thread should be - Baker resigns, Baker rehired.

It is disappointing that someone had to lose their job to make
a higher paying position available in the Music department. I hope
they help the former chair find a new position.

But it's tomorrow's black eye on the university and that has been the case for several years. Go talk to someone in the Development Department and see how all these black-eyes since the Hardin days have affected donations.

It doesn't have to do with sports. That's why it's under "general UCA discussion" and not under any of the sports discussions.

[i]We take care of our own at uca and Gilbert is one of our on. It is as simple as that, at the end of the day the music chair wasn't one of us. If you don't appreciate that there is no place for you at uca.
