Just saw him a few weeks back at the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame induction. I spoke to him as I walked to my seat, but I'm sure he had no idea who I was.

I was told this morning and wanted to make sure people on here knew, but you beat me to it.

So sorry to learn this.......... I never met David in person but we traded more than a few emails over the years..........I would email him about a story (usually just to comment, or thank him for a nice story about UCA and a few times with criticism).........he was always good to reply in some appropriate way and thank me for reading his stories.........David is one of my two top All-Time Arkansas sportswriters (the other being Frank Lightfoot of the old Pine Bluff Commercial)........both shared a talent for covering an event without a bunch of pathetic whining or worse.........that made for short stories that got the point across quickly.........he will be missed..............
