I went to that game. Nichols was fouling hard in the first half and no calls were happening. Credit to nich for hitting mongo 3pointers though. KK was on fire. They ran the same play over and over and scored over and over.

Will have to miss this game also but will try to catch scores. SugarBears need to figure this out quickly as to who is going to play hard for 40 minutes besides the same 2-3. You can be cold shooting but that does not keep you from tenacious defense and rebounding. Hoping SBs get back on track and clsoe out the homestand 2-2. |

29 - 41, Sugar Bears behind. Nicholls is filling the paint full of defense, and Nicholls offense is making their shots. We're not making shots we should be getting, and our ball control is weak. |

Final 68-62 Nicholls 1-3 on the 4-game home stand... Ridiculous! This team is going to screw around and not even qualify for the SLC tournament! |

If the point gaurds had half the aggression that Deuver does, we'd have won that game and probably more. As an old ball player, I gotta ask something. Why was Megan playing point gaurd? ...against KK? I'm sure she has good ball handling skills but what's wrong with the other girls? Man that tells me we miss Nakia BADLY. Oh, and I hope when we are down by double digits that coach doesn't insist on sitting down all the time. Noticed that Nicholls coach was UP and VERY active while our coach was shaking her head in her seat. I think the Nicholls players were more scared to go to the bench than face our defense.  ..which by the way was nonexistant in the first half. How many offensive rebounds did they get? how many steals did Nich. get in the first half? Try 11 steals in the first half. I don't blame the girls. They have the talent to win. I don't even blame the coach even with her apparent lack of motivating girls in the first half, which she picked up in the second half. I blame chemistry. THey looked like they were just giving it their all to pass the ball to each other instead of thinking about their NEXT move. How many times did KK dribble from the left side of the court across the top of the key and use a pick to go one on one with Megan and score? Megan's parents were sitting above me and were saying things like "here they go again..same #$% play", and "oh Megan". C'mon Sugar Bears...we believe in you!

It is really hard to replace Nakia and Des...they were both aggressive players who could play great defense and drive the paint.... SBs need to figure it out quickly..... Is Micah out for the season? |
