Great way to finish home schedule and last game at FC for Agee and Sadler....very good shooting day...52% FGs, 46% 3s and 77% FTs...holds SELA to 38% FGs....+8 rebs....+9 assists....TOs OK at 14.....4 in double figuring scoring...Mullins at 24, Watts at 16, Sadler at 12 andd Agee at 10....Muliins shot 70% FGs, 75% 3s and 100% FTs....now 10-6/16-11 |

Standings after tonight (2/28): 1. SFA, 14-2. (Northwestern, SHS) 2. Lamar, 13-4 (SHS) 3. Nicholls, 11-5 (UCA,@SELA) 4. McNeese, 10-7 (UCA) 5. Northwestern , 10-6 (@SFA, UNO) 6. TAMCC, 10-6 (HBU, ACU) 7. UCA, 10-6 (@Nicholls, @McNeese)..........clinched... 8. ACU, 8-8 ( @UIW, @TAMCC).....not eligible 9. SHS, 5-11 (@Lamar, @SFA) 10. HBU, 5-11 (@TAMCC, @UIW) Outlook: SFA....2-0 to end 16-2 Lamar ...1-0 to end 14-4 Nicholls ....2-0 to end 12-7 Northwestern....maybe 1-1 to end 11-7 TAMCC...maybe 2-0 to end 12-6 UCA .....maybe 0-2 to end 10-8...win both and maybe 4th....beat MSU and maybe tie for 5th ACU ...maybe 1-1 to end 9-9e SHS...maybe 0-2 to end 5-13 HBU....maybe 1-1 to end 6-12 SBs have tiebreaker over TAMCC based on 1/6/15 win. If we could edge up and tie Northwestern State we split with them. |

Would rather we first gamee vs McNeese or Nicholls than Lamar but have to play who we line up against.....looks lke SFA and Lamar are the cream of the crop this season but never know in a tourney.....we are certainly playing with more consistency now...let's win out this week..... |

@Nicholls State http://www.ucasports.com/boxscore.aspx?path=wbball&id=1767 SBs fall 53-43.......just got home so did not get to listen...stats indicate we just never got going..trailed by 13 at half and only scored 23 in H2......shot <40% FGs and only 15% from 3s (2/13)..really sounds fishy that we only got to the FT line just once!!! Also helped Nicholls by having 21 TOs....both teams rebounded well ...Nicholls shot poorly as well BUT had 10/14 FTs.....basically the difference in the score came down to FTs.... Watts led SBs with 10... Now 10-7/17-12.....on to LC.... |

Sorry to see the Sugarbears lose this one....from what I have heard, Nicholls is a terrible place to play. Understand it is the worse facility in the league. Nevertheless, time to move on to McNeese. |

@McNeese, 3/7/15 FINAL: SBs fall 72-68 after a furious comeback...down 61-46 at 7:22 to play then outscored McNeese 22-10 down the stretch......actually down by 11 with 2:56 to go...shot well enough to win...only 11 TOs and good rebounding... did not play good enough defense and McNeese had 7 3s......Proffitt led with 16/5 and Watts added 15/3...Mullins and Sadler each were 12/7.....held Baggett to only 4 points but allowed Rachal to hit 4 3s and score 24..... Coach: did not play smart.....did not follow the game plan......got pushed around inside again....happy with some parts but not overall.....probably a rematch Thursday with McNeese.....obviously not pleased with play..... SBS end regular season at 10-8/17-13....Steve noted SBs have qualified for the SLC tourney each year in D1..... Let's hope next outing is much better.... Down at half then just getting further behind in H2..shooting, TOs and rebs OK but McNeese shooting >50%.....needa quick run but that means httiing some 3s and playing better defense..... |

http://southland.org/documents/2015/3/7/2015_WBB_Bracket.pdf SBs have Northwestern first (split with during season) then Nicholls...then Lamar to get to finals....... Won by 10+ at Conway over Demons then lost by 2 on road... Lost to Nicholls by 3 at Conway and by 10 on the road.... We kept it within 40 vs Lamar at Beaumont.......Cards lost 2x to SFA, once to TAMCC and a 21 pt loss at McNeese..... |
