I noticed the ACU scores have been much closer than in the past.

They beat Corpus by 6 and SELA by 2.

Then I found this:

Quote:
And, playing for the second time without leading rebounder Lizzy Dimba (out for the season with a knee injury), they gave up 24 offensive rebounds to the Lady Lions. "We're still trying to get used to our new normal of playing without one of our starters and best players," Goodenough said. "We've got to figure out a way to get things done without her on the floor."

They've got 4 games left and one of those is Corpus again. Plus they have Houston Baptist. This road to a title may not be as easy for them now as it initially looked just two games ago.

It's coming down to the wire and I have a feeling our Sugar Bears will be sharing a title.... [-o< ( Yeah, we can't control how others play but we also have to take it ONE game at a time too! )

While I want the Sugarbears to get one since the SLC tourney is set up that way, I'm not a big double-bye fan.

I'm OK with teams earning a single bye based on in-conference success, but to me, a double bye reeks of a conference trying to rig the game in favor of a particular team (or teams). Just my two cents.

I agree completely! I'm glad one of the teams may be our Sugarbears, but it does seem a little much to get a double bye.

Sugarbears up 20-13 in the 2nd.

Side note. I think ACU has found a way to win. They are up at HBU 35-11 with 3 min left in the first half!

SHS 11-11-12-19=53
UCA 18-15-19-20=72 (13-2/23-3)

Pretty awesome win in front of 1900+ with what Coach considered a weak defensive game............55% v 36% FGS.........29% v 26% 3s........59% vs 68% FTs......37 v 27 rebs.......only 10 TOs.....23 assists.....SB bench wins 24-5............

Watts and Strickland each were 14/4.........Baudoin 12/13............Watkins had 12 assists (and 9 points)..

Wrapup double bye and stay one game behind ACU.........now off to SLU in Hammond for another important game on Sat.....Go SugarBears!!!
