14 seed for your first time in the tournament is pretty good.

Hopefully I'll be in Louisville to cheer on the Sugar Bears!

On a semi-related topic, can anyone explain why, if Abilene Christian wasn't eligible for the SLC or NCAA tournament, are they eligible for the WNIT?

I believe it's because the WNIT is not an NCAA sanctioned event.

Using most recent NCAA RPI data as thru 3/13/16:

Avg RPI per region (rounded):

UCONN: 54
Baylor: 47
South Carolina: 42
Notre Dame: 52

Total tourney avg = 49

The UConn region avg is hurt by 5-6 points as #15 Alabama State is the highest RPI in the tourney by 25.

Avg RPI by seed # (rounded):
1-3
2-8
3-11
4-14
5-23
6-26
7-27
8-35....St John's at 42 raises this avg
9-42......Auburn gets a #9 with a 57 RPI while DuQuense does also at 18 RPI
10-32..........Green Bay at 20 and Penn at 27 get here which seems better at #9
11-44
12-48
13-72
14-105 (UCA at 90 is lowest RPI by 15)
15-134
16-157

Some notable RPIs better than UCA not in the tourney:
43: A-State (ony Sunbelt team higher than UCA RPI)
47: Duke
49: NC State
53: St Mary's
55: Vilanova
56: Southern California
58: Iowa
70: Georgia Tech
73: Vanderbilt
78: Michigan

Some notable teams with RPI > UCA:

Big 10: Nebraska, Northwestern, Pen State, Illinois, Wisconsin
Big 12: TCU, Iowa State, Kansas, Texas Tech
Pac 12: Washington State, Arizona, Colorado
SEC: LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss (avg of RPI of 150!!!)
ACC: Virginia, Pitt, Wake Forest
Others: Gonzaga, Tulsa, La Tech

Triple Cown Sports conducts the WNIT. I believe since it is not a NCAA recognized event, then any NCAA team can play if not on "no post season" sanctions and the tourney meets the NCAA rules for participation (ie, no pay to play, etc).

ACU is not sanctioned by NCAA but simply in transition from D2 to D1.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I just assumed that since the NIT is an NCAA event, the WNIT is as well. Probably explains why one is linked from the NCAA site while the other is not.

Understand the frustration and I couldn't get the streaming video either. However, one has to admit, once posted that picture is priceless and soon to become "timeless". Another historical event for UCA athletics. =D> =D> =D> =D> Way to go ladies.

Beat Louisville!

Last check Louisville was winning 66-43.

Still proud of this team!

We need some size down low though.
