McNeese at UCA

MSU 17-12-7-16 = 52 (4-2/9-8)
UCA 19-16-11-21= 67 (4-2/12-4)

Nice home win. In spite of 18% for 3s, SBs won FGs by 42% v 32% (+5) and FTs by 70% vs 60% (+7) and rebs 45 v 31..............-12 2nd chance points and modest TOs at 13 vs 11.......McWilliams led with 16/5 and Proffitt was 15/3 while shooting only 19% FGs.........other than poor shooting 3s stats look pretty solid.......and the main stat looks great.....

Good job by the ladies...now off to NOLA for a4pm tip vs UNO......

@UNO

UCA 13-15-13-14=55 (5-2/13-4)
UNO 15-8-13-15 = 51 (4-3/9-8)

Very good win........really did not shoot well but held UNO to low %s.....UCA 40% vs 35% FGs...........40% vs 14% 3s........only 66% vs 79% FTs but still was +10 as SBs got to the line 32 times............SBs were +3 rebs but had 23 TOs (!!!) and forced 19...................UNO stayed in game with +11 on POTs.........Jordan led the way wit a fine 23/12 and Mullins come to life with 18/7 (but also 7 TOs).......nobody else had more than 5...........

Tied for 3rd in a crowded top of standings......next up another road game at SLC leader SFA on Wed........needless to say a BIG game..........Go SugarBears!!

@SFA

UCA 20-21-14-12=67 (6-2/14-4)
SFA 18-18-9-18=63 (6-1/15-3)

Another big road win for our SBs............only 2nd time to win at SFA.............Taylor Baudoin led with excellent 17/7/4 game with two huge FTs with 5 seconds left...........Maggie at more than solid 19/2.......Mullins also good night at 14/6/3........Jordan was 12/4.......Griffin had four important rebs..........+14 rebs......

Close game and not just on scoreboard.......FGs% was UCA 48% vs 51%..........3s at 56% each..........FTs were 92% vs 89%........SBs did have 21 TOs .......

Coach: Proud of the bench..........proud of the rebounding........beat a very good basketball team.........great atmosphere.......SFA avg 80 and we held them way under..........

HUGE Road win! They had the 4th-longest active win streak in the nation coming into the game today.

UIW at UCA

UIW 11-10-24-5=50 (3-7/5-16)
UCA 18-16-8-21=63 (7-2/15-4)

Missed the game but SBs had this one in hand at half by 34-21 then Cards whipped them badly in Q3 to take 45-42 lead.............then SBs put the D on them and secured a nice win........decent shooting night with 41% vs 35% FGs (only 30% in H2)..........50% vs 33% 3s...only 741% vs 86% FTs........fortunately had 41/26 reb advantage (and 26 o-rebs).....SBs only had 10 TOs BUT Cards had 20 POTs........pretty efficient......balanced scoring.....Proffitt and Jordan 13 each........Mullins 9 and Baudoin 8 and McWiiliams 7.............

@McNeese next Tuesday

Win 496 for Coach and Game #800.......

I'm not sure if this was the reason they came back but the Sugar Bears looked lost after halftime, missed a bunch of shots, and UIW looked confident. Officiating again was horrible. Late whistles. Lane drives by both teams called 2 different ways. Even UIW players were frustrated with them. :lol: Sadly you could see the officials during timeouts arguing with each other about what should have been called and what should NOT have been. [-X

While there is still lots of season left, SBs are 121 in RPI rankings.

Now who would have thought in 2006 SBs, as good as they had been in NAIA and D2 would have accomplished what they have to this point in D1? As of 1/29/17 RPIs SBS rank ahead of many good basketball conference teams such as :

124 Clemson
125 St Mary's (CA)
126 Pittsburgh
131 Kansas
141 Tulsa
142 TCU
156 Missouri State
163 Nebraska
201 Wisconsin
219 Marshall (OK this one listed for obvious reasons)

There are others also..........

@McNeese

UCA 16-27-14-15=72 (8-2/16-4)
MSU 12-8-15-14=49 (5-5/10-11)

In spite of 8 TOs in Q4 the SBs ran away with this one............+8 rebs.......58% vs 31% FGs........50% vs 8% 3s...........MSU avg 70 per game and were held to only 49..........shot 79% in Q2..........Proffit leads with 22/4 on 6/9 for 3s.......Baudoin was 16/6...........Jordan and Mullins each had 9 on about only 20 minutes play each.........

Coach: Our guard play was not very good today....we are also beat up with a couple on the bench instead of playing.......when you are a junior in D1 you should be able to handle the basketball........

UCA now leads 16-8 in series over McNeese.......next is a 2pm tip Sat at FC in first of a doubleheader vs SELA..........Go SugarBears!!

So far so good after Q3.............now to put it away...........59% FGS vs 33%.......44% vs 13% 3s.........+6 rebs.....Baudoin leads with 16.......

SLU@UCA

SLU 13-12-11-19=55 (2-9/4-18)
UCA 17-22-12-26=77 (9-2/17-4)

Mullins excellent with 25/4..........Jordan was 18/7......Baudoin 11/8.........Logan also had 8 rebs.....47% vs 32% FGs..........40% v 39% 3s but SLU had 7.....68% (27/40 !!!) vs 78% FTs.....40 v 32 rebs..........15 vs 19 TOs...SBs had 13 assists and won points off TO by 29-8..........

Great job by SBs.........

Coach: SLU is very difficult to defend applying five guards......Underwood is a fine player and we could not keep her under her average..........we need to come out after half with more energy and fire......heard that SFA lost today..........we have to play better Wed to beat ACU...

At Half
Good start....42% v 35% FGs........50% v 44% 3s.......75% v 100% FTs......+2 rebs..only 6 TOs vs 12 for Lions......Mullins 14 and Jordan 10..........

#1 ACU @ #2 UCA

ACU 25-16-7-22=70
UCA 19-23-15-23=80

Q2: SBs got rolling late Q1 and gradually caught up then take 42-41 lead into locker room.............trailed by 24-11 late in Q1 and started climbing out of the hole............56% vs 62% FGs.......UCA has +6 FGs but ACU has +12 FTs (13/19 and SBs only had three attempts)......ACU still has a +5 reb edge...........but has four more TOs.......Mullins has 8.......Proffitt, Baudoin, Jordan (plus 5 rebs) and McWillimas each have 7.........

Q1: Wow....Wildcats lead on 75% FGs and a 12/3 reb edge.........SBs shooting only 8/20.........Proffitt, Baudoin and Jordan each have 5 points........need a better defensive effort............

Sugarbears up 75-66 with 56 secs left DESPITE a HUGE discrepancy in FTs...ACU has gone 23-35 at the line, UCA only 7-9!
That lopsidedness is unreal, but hey at least we are still up where it matters!

#1 ACU @ #2 UCA

ACU 25-16-7-22-=70 (9-2/15-8)
UCA 19-23-15-23=80 (10-2/18-4)

H2: Much better defense in Q3 and a red hot offense.........53% v 42% FGs and +10..........55% v 30% 3s and +3..........80% v 67% FTs (but ACU was 25/37 and SBs 12/15).........rebs ended up 31 v 34 after a terrible start........12 v 156 TOs.........Proffitt with 23.........Baudoin an excellent 15/7/5.........Mullins 10/1/8.......Jordan 9/5 and McWilliams 9/4...

Big win.....congrats to the SLC leading SBs.......Go SugarBears!!

Q2: SBs got rolling late Q1 and gradually caught up then take 42-41 lead into locker room.............trailed by 24-11 late in Q1 and started climbing out of the hole............56% vs 62% FGs.......UCA has +6 FGs but ACU has +12 FTs (13/19 and SBs only had three attempts)......ACU still has a +5 reb edge...........but has four more TOs.......Mullins has 8.......Proffitt, Baudoin, Jordan (plus 5 rebs) and McWilliams each have 7.........
