Bears at Houston Baptist

84-59 final......even with <23> rebs..... FG% ended up OK at 42% andf 7/19 from 3s....game was lost at FT line with <17>......Zuilhof ended at 15/4 and Martin was 14/7 (but also 4 TOs) and Howard and Unruh each had 11.....once again we get too far behind in H1 then played decently in H2 but still losing the half by 45-39...

At 10 minute mark trails 63-44...

H2 not off to a great start...HBU wins first 4:30 by 13-7 for 23 point lead at 52-29.....

EOH HBU leads 39-22......Zuilhof leads UCA with 7/2 with 3/5 FTs (only Bear to shoot FTs)....Howard and Unruh each have 5.....poor shooting (about 36%)..not getting to line..putting HBU on the line....poor rebounding (down 16 rebs)....execution has to improve.....

Bears trail 29-18 at 4:32 mark after leading 11-8 at 14:18....35% FG% and only 4 FT attempts.....and no O-rebs....TOs Ok at 7-6 but HBU has 13 points off TOs while Bears have 3 and HBU is +11 on FTs....

Let's just get them home and try again on Saturday against Nicholls.

Heard we are the only division I team in the nation without a division I win. Not sure if that is correct though.

Hope a few days of practice at home can help......a good H1 vs Nicholls to be in the game might be what they need...they play hard and seem to get adjusted much better in H2....

Noticed where Nicholls got hammered by Sam Houston State last night.
I like our chances at home against Nicholls. The Colonels, for the most part, have struggled in games played in Conway.

FINAL - Bears fall 71-61....very good H1 for a change then poor shooting in H2 led to the loss...much better played game with good reb stats and very good at getting to FT line and hitting shots......only 18% for 3s and ended up with 19 TOs ......... Howard had 18 and Kamba tallied 15...now to put a good H1 with a good H2....

3:28 left and Bears trail 62-54..still shooting only 31%...Livestats not updating......

Bears and Colonels tied 32 all at half.....shooting only 32% FGs but +11 at FT line.....+10 on rebs but still still way too many TOs at 11....Howard leads with 11...good H1..now need to finish strong.....

Missed the game last night.....looks like we played Ok for 35 minutes...first five down 20-5 was a killer.....keep putting it together..... both teams sloppy with the ball at 20+ TOs.......Bears stuffed in paint as UNO was +16 PIP......

FINAL: Demons sneak a win in a wild game 110-108.......except for neg 11 on 20 TOs Bears seemed to play well......58% FGs, 52% 3s, 82% FTs and +8 on 39 rebs.....a tiny bit more defense and a couple less TOs and this was a Bears wiin to be had....

Howard leads with 27/4 and Martin at 23/7 and 10 assists).....Kamba was 16/9 and Zuilof was 14/6 in 26 minutes before fouling out...Milligan added 11/7......

Demons had beaten Lafayette earlier and lost by only 8 in the 100-92 shootout at Fayetteville.....in SLC had wins over UIW, Lamar, McNeese, Nicholls, SELA and HBU.....

Could never get the audio or video tonight.....

8:37 tied at 78-78......Demons 11-3 run...we miss shots they hit shots....

10:00 left Bears up 75-67 ....best quarter of the season as Bears have been fire shooting and rebounding very well..outscored Demons 28-15.....now got to finish strong

Bears trail 52-47 at half at FC vs Northwestern State.....knock out the TOs and we win this game....

I'm guessing hacking and holding a player doesn't count as a foul on an inbound with 5 seconds left. [-X

Hitting 3 free throws to bring it within 2 only to have the refs swallow their whistles was confusing to us in the stands. The players threw their hands up wondering if a wedding ring was necessary for refs to see contact in the last 5 seconds. Geez.

Moving on... =D>
