A new low in the program…
losing to UAPB is not acceptable.

Seriously, why does UCA have a basketball program?
Embarrassing to put it mildly.

While UAPB Basketball is on the rise. Respectfully, we need life. We need an injection of energy in the UCA Basketball Program. Should we go put basketballs in the AD's front yard?

Pathetic… shut down the program and start
a hockey team.

The tough march ahead doesn't appear to be getting any brighter. I'm nervous for conference play.

Losing at home against Eastern Michigan and New Orleans hurts the soul. Both of those were winnable games and makes me nervous what the score could have been on the road.

Little Rock this year on Dec 7th will be intresting. Will be a big test I think for conference play. Gotta think the OVC is similar to ASUN.

Eastern Illinios and Western Illinois will be a final tuneup before going on the road to get beat up again at Oklahoma and Missouri.

Might try to take our daughter to Little Rock on Dec 7th. At least for the atmosphere as it's one of the more attended games.

At this point I'm convinced it's not just coaching, players, or admin. It's a little bit of everything. Possibly mainly Admin. UCA needs new life though. Really that would be a new smaller gym and then turn the old gym into designated Basketball Pratice facility/multipurpose. I think that would be fair. Then possibly look at hosting an in-state tournament with UAPB, UCA, ASU, Little Rock (even include the D2 teams) to generate some revenue and fanfare.

Bears fall by 90-63 at Loyola-Marymount in Los Angeles...certainly competitive thru mid H2 ......fell behind early by 8 but came back to close within 1 late in H1....trailed by 5 as LMU hit a 3 just before half....came out strong and led by 1 with 14 to go....then LMU took off and finished 41-14.....Bears went 7:27 without a score....

FR Tucker Anderson put up 17 to lead UCA (5-10 for 3s!) while Cato had a very solid 15/10/1S double double....Kirsipuu also added 15..Etim grabbed 10 rebs....

UCA/LMU:

FGs%: 34% v 45%
3s%: 26% v 50%...LMU +6 made
FT%: 89% v 86%...LMU +11 made
Rebs/2nd: 14-22=36/11 v 15-28=43/22...LMU +11 on 2nd chance
TOs/POTO: 13/12 v 11/27......LMU +15 POTO...

O-rebs and TOs pretty good but did not convert to points nearly well enough...LMU actually took 5 fewer shots......Bears just did not shoot well during the H2 drought..

I have not posted on here in several months due to my job sending me out on the road, but recently I had the opportunity to watch our men's basketball team play and thought I would weigh in.

The Bears do have some really good, solid young players. I was told Cam Hunter might be back for the Oklahoma or Missouri games, but having him in there will help. Tucker Anderson of Bentonville is the REAL deal. Can score from just about anywhere on the floor. For a freshman, he is exceptional.

Also playing well in the games that I saw was sophomore point guard, Johannes Kirsipuu, sophomore forward, Glory Etim, sophomore guard, Carl Daughtery, Jr. and graduate student, Daniel Sofield.

10 of the players on their roster are either freshmen or sophomores. .

I know their record is awful (3-10), but this group is actually showing some promise.

Their biggest problem right now is inconsistency on offense, lack of experience in playing together and a rash of injuries and sickness that hit the team early in the non-conference part of the schedule.

The schedule, which I'm not going to start harping on, doesn't help the situation.

I am not familiar enough with the new conference to have a feel how good the competition is.

This bunch might make a pretty good team, if they can stay together, but the transfer portal just might destroy all of that.
