Lots of good options:

1. Nolan Richardson- Proven track record.

2. Jerome Allen-knows big league ball and big personalties.

3. Bob Wade-Been a few years, but had a few games at Maryland.

4. Isiah Lord Thomas III-Had a short stint at FIU.

5. Todd Day Sr-Maybe he wants to coach at the D1 level?

Probably just a tad out the budget.

Well, it’s been a little over a week since Anthony Boone was dismissed as Head Coach.

You would think that our AD would, at the VERY least, give an update on the progress of the search for a replacement. But NO, not one damn word. This is more than damn bush league. Teague still needs to be fired, but that is another story.

It just shows, more than anything, that no one cares. From the Board of Trustees, to the President, to the Administration, to the Faculty and Staff and finally to the students, NO ONE CARES!!!

Men’s Basketball was once a proud program. No More….Shut It Down, Now.

Why do you think the AD would give any update on a coach search? During the coaching carousel time (around and after the tournament) lots of schools are looking and many candidates won't be available until afterward. Even if there were an update to give, why tip your hand early?

It may be true that no one cares. At this point, though, I wouldn't expect any news.

You bring up some valid points, however, I think a lot of searches are done in a few days with the exception being that a candidate is not available because his team is in the post season.

The AD could do something real simple like saying the search is proceeding smoothly and that we have reached out to some candidates while there are several that have reached out to us. He could also talk about a potential time line for naming a coach, but emphasize we are trying to move as quickly as possible. There are a lot of things you can do and say without tipping your hand.

Teague has been known to do the searches himself. When Russ Pennell was hired he put together a small search comittee made up of 2 or 3 Purple Circle members.Who knows what he is doing this time.

Give your Purple Circle members and general fans an update. That doesn’t take much.

At the last bear backers he did mention it. Said that they’re wanting to move quick. Ideally have a coach by the end of this week if I remember correctly.

Here's my pick. He has Arkansas ties and has coached at the D1 level as an Associate Head Coach. Recently coached at Kennesaw and Austin Peay as of last year.

I would be down for it! I hope we could also talk to Mark Downey up the road in Russ Vegas.

Checked out Mark. Looks like he has a knack for turning programs around. Maybe we could get both he and Michael Cotton.

Discovered it a couple of days ago on “X”. As usual, nothing from the local and state media. With spring break underway, UCA will probably announce it some time this week, that way there will be no
one around. Terribly sad situation.

This guy had some limited success at UT-Chattanooga a number of years
ago….took 2 teams to the dance and a few years later was fired. He worked
in sales and then resurfaced at a private school before going to Huntsville.

Hard to figure how a guy at this point in his career would want to take a
dumpster fire like UCA. Also, saw where Cam Hunter has entered the transfer
portal and is getting a ton of interest. Hope this guy has something left in the tank.
Losing Hunter, he needs to be out recruiting yesterday. I wish him luck.
