I understand that the Bulls retired Scottie Pippen's #33 tonight in Chicago.

Lou Hardin and Phil Jackson were his special guest, according to reports.

Congratulations Pip.

Yes, I cant believe we missed that earlier. Congrats to Scottie on that for sure.

As a side note, does anyone know if UCA has already retired his number here? And if not, I would think sometime in the near future would be a great idea to try to get him back into the fold of UCA while we are about to make the jump to Division 1.

It has been talked about for years, but nothing done.

The only number and/or jersey in basketball that I recall being retired was #44 for Wally Love, who played for the Bears in the late 70's and early 80's.

if we're going to talk about hanging Scottie's, might as well bring up Checola too. Put her up there in the rafters as well. Both her and Scottie already had their faces painted on the entrance/exit ways in the FC before, might as well hang their numbers...

If your going to put Checola in there, you also have to put Terri Conder-Johnson.

IMHO, Scottie, Checola and Terri are the ONLY three numbers that really need retiring.

Just a general question here...

Are numbers retired due to what that athlete did while at the institution? or does it also include the accomplishments following their time at UCA?

Come on give Harmon some credit!!!!!!! He used to set some of the best screens for some of us. The man was not afraid of anything or anyone. Trust me I had to room with him for 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus he would drive Coach Dyer up the wall with his antics.
