Although it has yet to be finalized, the University of Central Arkansas men’s basketball schedule for next season includes games at SMU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri and Hawaii. Plus, Missouri State might again pop up on the schedule.

The Missouri game will pit new coach Corliss Williamson against the Tiger coach Mike Anderson, the top assistant on Nolan Richardson’s staff when Williamson played for the Razorbacks.

If that part of the schedule comes about, two things are known: The UCA program will make money and the Bears will find out where they stand quickly.

COACH FINLEY

Williamson made an outstanding choice when he selected veteran high school and amateur coach Clarence Finley to be his associate head coach.

Finley, one of Williamson’s mentors who was involved in the development of some outstanding teams at Little Rock Parkview and Little Rock Central, is a well-respected teacher of basketball. He adds a needed element of wisdom and maturity to Williamson’s young staff...

At Hawaii? Is that a tourney game somewhere?

I guess we're fortunate that those schools who will be paying us don't have a chairman of their BoT that thinks they shouldn't be paying schools like us to play them. :wink:

I'm there! I used to love the old Hendrix v. UCA rivalry games!

Hendrix fans used to chant as their team was losing, "That's alright, that's ok. You're gonna work for us someday!" :roll:

it's an exhibition for Hendrix but counts for UCA. Last year's game was like that. The Central Methodist loss counted for the Bears, but did not count as a win for them. NAIA/D3 rules are weird like that.

Just stopped by the basketball court.....they have it completely stripped down to the (bear) wood! Anyone know if they are putting the new logo on it? I didn't realize how HUGE that court is with the stands pulled back! :lol:

That is great to hear BC! I assume that they are going to put the new logo on it, but I don't know for sure. I didn't figure that would happen for some time with the budget and all, but they may have gotten some private donations for it.
