Tough loss, but the Bears played hard until the final whistle. Hawaii had a quick run of 3 pointers late in the first half to open a lead and the Bears fought back.

Dos Santos was the Bank of Hawaii MVP for UCA; well done!

It was certainly worth staying up to 1:30 to watch.

1-2 punch lifts Hawaii by Central Arkansas 83-69
The Associated Press

HONOLULU — Zane Johnson and Bill Amis both scored 15 points and Hawaii used a huge surge over the final 10 minutes of the first half to beat Central Arkansas 83-69 on Friday night.

Bo Barnes added 14 points and Josten Thomas had 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds for Hawaii (4-0).

Carlos Dos Santos scored 17 points and Ryan Williams scored 15 of his 16 in the second half for the Bears (1-2).

Mike Pouncy's 3-pointer gave Central Arkansas a 20-15 lead midway through the first half. But the Rainbow Warriors outscored the Bears 31-10 over the rest of the half, including three 3-pointers by Barnes.

Trevor Wiseman's basket with 14:48 remaining gave Hawaii its largest lead at 60-37. Central Arkansas got as close as 78-69 with 51 seconds left after a steal and layup by Williams.
