Tip at 7:30pm Colonels are 1-9 Only win was home vs UNO but they dropped the return game at UNO. NSU has the 43rd toughest schedule at this point and losses to Vandy, Mizzou, Michigan State and Nebraska are not unexpected. Note that on the road at Cornhusker U they only lost by 9. Nov 10 - L at Vanderbilt, 65-80 Nov 16 - L at Missouri, 54-74 Nov 26 - W vs. New Orleans, 92-79 Dec 1 - L at Michigan State, 39-84 Dec 4 - L at Tulane, 48-65 Dec 12 - L at New Orleans, 76-79 Dec 20 - L at Utah State, 72-79 Dec 21 - L vs. Southern Ill, 53-65 Dec 22 - L at UC Davis, 71-82 Dec 29 - L at Nebraska, 59-68 Fred Hunter leads the Colonels with 20 ppg on 53% FG % and nearly 8 rebs; only 68% FTs and 18% 3s. H also avg 1.4 steals per game and onlyy 2 TOs. T J Carpenter and Dantell Thomas avg 12-13 ppg and 5-6 rebs; both are 70%+ FTs and Carpenter in 50%+ FGs and 47% 3s. They are a decent shooting team with 42% FGs, 33% 3s and 67% FTs. Also, they only avg 14 TOs per game and avg about 6 steals per game. This is a game both teams count on for a win and ratings show UCA about a 1 point margin. Bears comig off a near miss on the road at Starkville without Q playing. Half Nicholls leads 38-30 with a 24-12 2nd Qtr... Decent shooting in 40s% but only 22% for 3 on 2 of 0...also, 12 TOs...way too many to win on the road... Crawford leads Bears with 10 and Berete has 7.... UCA has held Hunter to 4 but Carepnter has 8.... Got to come out and get back in the game..... |
