SFA is 6-0/17-2 and is a very good team. Two notable comps to UCA...Bears won at North Texas by 64-55 while SFA won at UNT by 87-53...UCA lost at home to NWS by 76-68 and SFA won on road by 74-58.....Jacks also won at ORU by 72-69 while Bears fell in Tulsa by 93-80....

SFA avgs SLC games at 77/61 while UCA avg 74/80.....SFA shoots 70% FTs and 47% FGs and UCA shoots 58% and 43%..both shoot 33% for 3s....Jacks avg out rebounding opponents by 38/27 and UCA is at 35/42.....both are top of SLC in O-rebs at 13-14.....LaQuentin Miles is SLC#3 in scoring at 22 but SFA has three at 13-15 level.....

Bears simply have to play better and with more intensity not giving up runs to have to fight hard to overcome.....no one expects SFA to have any trouble in this game.....Bears can prove them all wrong with a strong effort for 40 minutes from the entire team....

In keeping with our men's basketball tradition I bet we hire Lamar's coach at the end of the season.

He said his players were stealing from the University by accepting scholarship money to play basketball.

This I believe LOL

http://www.ucasports.com/news/2014/1/25/MBB_0125145200.aspx

SFA 30-36=66 (7-0/18-2)
UCA 24-25=49 (1-6/4-14)

Jacks out rebounded Bears by 39-20, including a 15-3 lead in O-rebs, and used that to put up 16 more FGs...pretty much the game....just too much for Bears although a hard fought game....Bears actually out shot Jacks 47%-45% for FGs but were only 1/8 for 3s.....Miles another fine offensive game at 23/4......McClure was next at 6 pts...

Cowboys up next on road, then Nicholls....

End of H1:

UCA 42
MSU 25

Helps to shoot well....59% FGs and 53% 3s...+6 on 3s..difference game...(3) rebs but close...however, only 2 O-rebs..need to be better than that...McLure adn Miles each have 10...good scoring balance for others....each team has only 5 FT attempts...

Got to play good defense the rest of the way..cannot count on 53% 3s again and MSU only shooting 6% for 3s....

Time to close this out with a win...

1/30/14 FINAL

http://www.ucasports.com/news/2014/1/31/MBB_0130141328.aspx

UCA 42-36=76 (2-6/5-14)
MSU 25-50=75 (4-4/6-14)

A game of two halves and an exciting comeback By UCA..... down 8 late.....Miles hit his biggest points of his career as Bears trailed 75-73 with 5 seconds on clock..then hits a last tick FG and was fouled and after 5 minutes of officials figuring out if time was left when fouled and officials put Q on the line who made the shot for the win .....

Cowboys really ratcheted up the rebs in H2 and ended up +21 rebs (+3 at H1) and had an incredible 27 O-rebs vs UCA's only 8...Bears outshot Boys by 47%-37% for FGs and 50%-19% for 3s.....both shot about 68-70% FTs....pretty well played game other than the rebs for Bears...only 11 TOs and Bears actually had 6-1 blocks margin...5 by Glasco.....

Ball led Bears with 23 including 7-9 for 3s....including one to get Bears to 72-70.....Miles was 15/7.....McClure added 14 and Berete put in 10....

Bears short handed as one missed the bus and another ill....

Credit Cowboys with a great H2 as Guidry ended with a 20/13 DD almost all in H2....

Coach sounded relieved for the guys to find a way to comeback for an important win....Go Bears....

End of H1:

UCA 42
MSU 25

Helps to shoot well....59% FGs and 53% 3s...+6 on 3s..difference game...(3) rebs but close...however, only 2 O-rebs..need to be better than that...McLure adn Miles each have 10...good scoring balance for others....each team has only 5 FT attempts...

2/1/14 FINAL

UCA 32-35=67 (2-7/5/15)
NSU 34-44=78 (7-2/10-8)

http://www.geauxcolonels.com/news/2014/2/1/MBB_0201144104.aspx

http://www.ucasports.com/news/2014/2/1/MBB_0201141533.aspx

Less than 10 TOs...even on rebs..Bears actually were +5 on O-rebs....Nicholls howvere wre +9 on points off TOs.....that was the game.....Bears were 16/28 from FTs which did not help as they were (5) FTs.....Colonels were 18/19 in H2 for FTs.....

Once again Miles leads with 23/8....McClure added 15....

Nicholls is solid team and tied for 2nd in SLC with SHS behind SFA.....this was winnable with a very good game but top teams rarely lose at home....
