Yes,it's sad to say that the only way to go is up. What may really put last night in prospective is that Mooreheads last game was was a 23 pt loss to D2 Northern Kentucky and at home too. I am afraid that we could see a mutiny in our guys. They so need something good to happen.Win a game? Oh can anyone tell me why we have three players on the bench in street clothes?

Exactly. All of these losses can't be good for team morale. I just hope they can see the bigger picture in all of this.
I assume the players in street clothes would be players that are ineligible right now or maybe recruits (I don't know when that happens).

Agree with everything said above....I was sitting near some of the UCA faithful last night and at one point, I heard one of the fans shout out..."If they could just have something good happen to them".

The good thing as it appears to me is that number one, the kids have not stopped working...number two, the coaches are doing a GREAT job of keeping them all together and number three, as Green Bay Quarterback Aaron Rodgers said to the Packers fan base last week regarding his injury...."R-E-L-A-X".... :)

Seriously, it is just going to take some time.

I would assume that two of the players in street clothes are the Grand Canyon transfers - Justin Foreman and Jeff Lowery. They are ineligible to play this year.

I think your right Trey. Have heard Coach Pennell say that these two guys could start right now. He further stated that he plans to redshirt at least three and maybe four players that are playing this year.

Certainly this all could change between now and next year, but I get the impression this is the way he is leaning.

Just saw on ucasports.com where the mens game was pushed back to Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. due to icy road conditions. Womens game will be at 1 p.m. .

Bears open SLC play today at ACU....

http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=60391

H1 ends with Bears down 41-34.........shooting, rebs and TO still in good shape but the difference is ACU has two more 3s as Bears shot 60% 3s but not enough shots......Zuilhof leads Bears with 12 pts and 5 rebs....

At Q1 mark Bears tied at 18...shooting well....

Just got the last few words of the radio, but I think they said the final was Abilene Christian 87 UCA 70.

Texas A & M Corpus Christi Tuesday night at home.

Bears fall 87-70..just could not keep up in H2. However, stats look better than decent.....

FGs: UCA 47% vs 54%
3s: 38% vs 61%...ACU made 5 more which was the scoring difference
FTs: 80% vs 82%
TOs: 17 vs 14
Rebs: 25 vs 33.....need to get better here....
Assists: 11 vs 16.....

Martin was 18/6, Howard had 17 and Zuilhof was 16/9....

ACU had 4 guys shoot 60%+ for 3s..apparently we could not defend the shot well.....

Next week has TAMCC (5-7 with road win over St Louis U) at the FC and then on road to Lamar (7-6 with road win at A-State and home win over Rice)....

Bears at home vs TAMCC...

Trail 43-27 at half....neither team shooting very well....Bears actually + 4 on rebs but are down 9 on TOs which led to +15 points off TOs.....

Bears fall 77-70 but best half of the season......fought to the end......Bears win H2 by 43-34...should give them something to hang onto..... made more FGs and more 3s..shot better %..... however, was <10> on made FTs and shot 69%......outrebounded TAMCC by 8.....but still too many TOs with 22 for a <9> which led to <13> for points off TOs.... Zuilhof had a 17/12 double double, Unruh also added 17 while Martin had 13 and Howard 12....getting close....cut down on TOs a bit and cut down on fouls some and they had a win in their grasp.....

Despite the 22 turnovers, it was the best they have played this season.

The kids kept playing...they never let up.

Hope this is something they can hang their hat on.

Good job Bears....keep working. =D>
