Congrats to team for a win and to Coach for his first win as the Bear head coach....nice to get a win from a team that beat us by 20 only two weeks ago.....

This looked like much better play by the Bears......UNO is not Kentucky but they had won more than us.....really good H1 shooting with 52% FGs and 80% FTs.... rebs solid at 23 but only 3 offensive while UNO hung around with 12 o-rebs....

UNO shot much better in H2 at 42% and 90% FTs.....Bears ended up with 22 TOs which nearly cost them...

Maybe the best improvement today was not the playing well in H1 (never trailed) but just not letting UNO take the lead late and then get a big block by Kamba and reb by Unruh in last 30 seconds.....

Howard led with 20, Martin with 15 and Zuilhof at 14/8....still we had 22 TOs and UNO was +8 on points off TO....needs more work but making improvement.....

Enjoy this eveing and savor until about midnight then get ready to get a road win over SELA on Tuesday....

Good job by the Bears......

The first one's the hardest to get. Proud of the Bears!

Remaining games:

@ SELA (3-6)
Incarnate Word (4-4)
@ Northwestern State (7-3)
Sam Houston (9-1)
McNeese (3-7)
SELA (3-6)
@ Sam Houston (9-1)
@ Nicholls (4-6)
@McNeese (3-7)

3-1 at FC not out of reach.....3-2 on road would be great but 2-3 solid and doable.....Bears are only half way through SLC play at 1-8...go 5-4 and end up 6-12....very unlikely to get into the tourney even with a terrific finish but I hope they give it a try....they are not playing like a 1-8 team ....

All very true JRK, but remember we are not eligible for the conference tournament this year because of the academics, BUT I like the way you are thinking...finish strong guys.

Sorry I missed todays game...was out of town, but was keeping up with it. They looked SO good in the loss against Northwestern State....just felt like a "W" was close.

Congratulations to Russ...his staff and "Da Bears"!!!!!

@SELA

Lions win 83-58.....FG% over 50% and 3s at 39%......SELA shoots 64%.....rebs about evened up but <7> on TOs and <7> on assists and lost PIP by 18......

Howard led with 16/3, Kamba was 11/4 and Christensen was 10/4.....

Coach...atrocious game..worse he has seen his team play.....no fight and fire....team will watch every painful second of this game tomorrow night....

Get on the bus for the long ride home.....Incarnate Word (3rd in D1 in scoring) at FC on Friday....

Trailed 48-25 at half and not any better in H2....when the opponent makes more FGs than you shoot, hard to win..... TOs and rebs a problem....FG% solid ....no FTs mid way thru H2.....

The Bears got off to a good start and then SELA started hitting everything. At one point, the Lions were shooting 70 percent from the field.

Final: Southeastern Louisiana 83 UCA 58.

Hard to zero in on the way this one got away...stats very even and Bears even won rebs and only had 9 TOs.....I-Word just shot a little better from the field and was +12 for PIP......Cards are pretty good team and Bears played well......Howard, Martin and Milligan all in double figures and Zyuilhof was 8/10....off to Northwestern State on Monday night and try again....

Jumped out to a 12-3 lead and then we couldn't defend.
Their biggest lead was about 12 points. We would get back within six and Incarnate Word would have a run. Basically no defense.
