The Pit is a very tough place to play and it looks like the Bears put out a strong effort.....led for most of H1 and trailed only by 5 at half....UNM reboudning killed us in H2 .....Lobos made more FTs than Bears shot..typical on road but Bears hit 9/11......Bears had 5 in double figures.......

Coastal Carolina at FC on Sunday......time for a win....

Lots of baby steps....led by 10 in H1 and even led at half..then shot bricks.....

Coach:
"We are just so young and have so much to learn,' said Pennell. "When we went on that run and we're up 25-15, the team came over and we were celebrating like we won a national championship. And I told them, the emotion of this little run will wear off, and sure enough by half they're back in it."

Next game at FC on 12/29 at 7pm vs Morehead State.....

Noticed where Moorhead had won only four games thus far.
Hope the Bears can end the 2014 portion with a "W". :)

Yep...something good needs to happen for this team ASAP or a winless
season is a distinct possibility. Haven't seen this team play so I have no
idea what is missing, but obviously it's numerous things. Double digit losses
take their toll on kids no matter how tough they seem to be. I hope they
can keep their head up and compete game in game out because it will get
Harder with each loss.

I'm sorry to say that due to work commitments, I have only seen them play two or three times, but despite the losses, I like what I am seeing.

This team is MUCH better than any team we have had since we made the move up. It is going to take some time to get this program going, but I am convinced that we FINALLY have the coach and staff to do it.

Hope to be at the Morehead State game on Monday.

Wow...Morehead leads 48-28 at half.......and Bears are shooting 57% from 3s....down 8 on rebounds and Morehead leads 28-10 on points in paint..........

Now down 71-38 with 12:02 left....only shotting 33% from 2 range......also down 26-4 on points off TOs.....glad we do not play Kentucky.....

Pretty humiliating home court loss.....95-60.........what stood out?

23/34 FTs pretty good..... actually won the blocks/steals by 10-9 and only down 2 in 2nd chance points.....

However....

Shot 4/7 for 3s in H1 then only 1/8 in H2......had 18 fewer FG attempts....gave up 59% FGs to Morehead including 60% 3s......outrebounded by 16...down 8 on TOs.....only 7 offensive rebs....

We really do not have the size we need...Morehead looked much beefier and stronger....our guards looked out of control trying to penetrate and we must have missed 10 layups or putbacks while I was watching....effort seemed there but there is a LONG way to go.....Morehead had 5 in double figures but Bears Unruh had 16 for Bears and Martin tallied 11 ith 3/5 and 2/3 from 3....

Hoping SBs play much well against AP tomorrow.....

I was there tonight as well...tough to watch.
Your right JRK, we have a long way to go, however, for the first time in a long time, I think we have the staff to get this thing done.

The program is below rock bottom....things are going to be ok.

We might as well expect to go winless this season. I'm not sure we have what it takes to win a game this season. It is not anyone's fault, but that is just the reality we are facing. We have an entirely new program essentially. New coaches, new players, new philosophies, new everything. This team is learning to play the game at the Division I level and learning to play together. We've seen some great individual efforts this season, but learning to play and win as a team is a different beast.

Rome wasn't built in a day!

Yes,it's sad to say that the only way to go is up. What may really put last night in prospective is that Mooreheads last game was was a 23 pt loss to D2 Northern Kentucky and at home too. I am afraid that we could see a mutiny in our guys. They so need something good to happen.Win a game? Oh can anyone tell me why we have three players on the bench in street clothes?

Exactly. All of these losses can't be good for team morale. I just hope they can see the bigger picture in all of this.
I assume the players in street clothes would be players that are ineligible right now or maybe recruits (I don't know when that happens).
