SHS 31-52=83 (11-5/16-13)
UCA 33-40=73 (6-10/7-19)

Must have been a good game to see in person..............how about that versus a 30 point whipping at Huntsille...............Bears even led 63-62 with 5:04 and was down only 74-70 with 1:12 left and 77-73 with 35 seconds on the clock...just could not get the stop at the end and had to send Kats to the FT line where they made shots.....great effort by Bears....

FGs were 47% vs 45%.... 3s at 44% vs 39%..........FTs 72% vs 66%......shooting accuracy not the issue...........each had 34 rebs but Kats had 4 more offensive andd Bears committed 18 TOs and SHS won points off TO by 23-9...........SHS took 13 more shots and was 14-2 on 2nd chance points.......Bears did win blocks by 5-1 and even 12-0 on fast break points........

Howard once again had a fine game with 24/3/3..........Foreman was 16/5..........Lowery added 13 and Brooks had a nice 7/12/3.....

This would have been very nice to win but I think the Southland is starting to get a good dose of what they will face next season from UCA............

Bears have Nicholls Thursday night at home before closing on Sat afternoon vs McNeese in the double header with the SBs.........let's pack the FC ........Go Bears!!

The Bears got off to a really fine start. Sam did not get its first points until about the 14 minute mark left in the first half.

Things went down hill after that, however, despite the foul trouble by UCA, those guys fought until the bitter end. I'm still with them.

Much better outcome than down in Huntsville! This team has shown a lot of progress this year, and is showing where this program is headed!

Nicholls leads 36-29 at half..................poor shooting by Bears letting Colonels stay in the game........30% FGs....no made 3s..........only FTs keeping us in the game.........9 TOs leading to 13 NSU points is the difference........protect the ball, play better defense and get the ball inisde for baskets and fouls............game is still very winnable...............

NSU 36-32=68 (5-12/9-22)
UCA 29-35=64 (6-11/7-20)

Bears fight back then fall behind and come back again to lead 55-52.............got on the wrong end of shootng FTs and missed a couple of FTs late..........we have not yet turned the corner......but we can see it and every once in a while sneak a peak around.......just have to win home games against lower half teams............33% vs 43% FGS.........23% vs 13% 3s.........74% vs 57%..........FTs kept us in the game with 25/34..........45 v 39 rebs and had 16 o-rebs.....only 13 TOs but those early put us in a hole........

Howard yet another fine night at 28/3/2............but 6 TOs............KMB was 11/5/1.....Brooks had 7 rebs and Zuilhof had 6........

Let's all go to back the Bears on Sat at 4pm vs McNeese.......

Coach Boone: TOs in H1 led directly to NSU points.....defense pretty good..........were not aggressive enough driving.....missed a few open shots....did not push the ball much......NSU came out hungry and we did not step up.........we have to get ourselves ready to play Sat .......

Tough last couple of home games that could have been winnable. Would have had a shot at winning 10 games but when we beat McNeese tomorrow, I will be happy.

Congratulations to Jordan Howard on joining the 1,000 point club. He is such a remarkable player. I (along with the rest of you) am glad that he will be with us for the next two seasons. (Crossing my fingers that his brother will join too)

All aside, this year has been an improvement. Something we can all be proud of and look to the future and say this will be a fun team to watch! Come see them beat McNeese tomorrow at FC. You know I will be there! Believe that!

MSU 46-39=85 (7-11/9-19)
UCA 36-41=77 (6-12/7-21)

Great comeback that just came up short.....thanks much to Justin Foreman and Jake Zuilhof for their contributions to the program and helping us move ahead........have we ever had a more impactful one year transfer than Foreman?

I thought at the outset that a 10-11 win season was within reach..............a three point road loss to Rutgers, 6 point road loss to UALR (who turned out to be pretty good) , a one point home loss to ACU, a 2 point road loss to Incarnate Word and a 4 point home loss to Nicholls..........not to mention the 8-10 point games that turned on a missed shot and not able to get on the right side of FTs at the end..........we certainly looked better this year and played really well at times.........

Go Bears!!

Great comeback is right....had the opportunities, but just could not convert.

Like the earlier post, I was in hopes of a 10-to-12 win season. Like JRK said close losses here and there were the difference makers.

Many thanks to Jake and Justin...they both made a HUGE sacrifice to come to UCA. Jake will finish his MBA this spring and Justin will get his degree in Biology this spring. Proud of these two....Hell, I'm proud of all of them. =D>

I do. Things are looking up. The past two years have been difficult but the future is looking great and that is a great sign looking forward. They will be back to postseason play and will be a contender in the Southland next year. Yeah, I said that!
