LU 31-45=76
UCA 31-62=93

Big win for Bears...........looks like the difference was 45% FGs and +13 off TOs witha +6 TO margin and held Cards to only 30% FGs (23% in H2).........

Bears had five in double figures led by Brooks with 24/9/5As/3S and Howard was 15/8 with on 42% 3s and 6/6 FTs......... Kamba put up 18, Foreman added 12 and Lowery (back in uniform today) had 11.........

Must have been a lot of shooting fouls...62 total FTs on only 30 fouls......

Congrats to the guys for a very nice home win..........

Hope someone who was at the game can add their observations....

Overall, the Bears played well.

In the first half, both teams had trouble hitting their shots, but in the second half, UCA stepped it up. Execution on offense was MUCH better and the defense improved.

Glad to see these guys get a win....they have been working hard and it was good to see that hard work pay off.

I happened to be in Conway today so I went over to Bearbackers to listen to the coaches speak for a few minutes.

I hope the SID department will post the video of Coach Pennell's remarks. I have been a believer since he got here but now even more so. I played high school basketball a number of years ago, but he had me pumped up and ready to lace up the old shoes before he got done speaking.

I know you guys are getting tired of me saying this, but IT IS just taking alot of time. In my mind, Russ is taking a lot of time to make sure it is all done right. We MUST hang with him and those kids.

Bears fall at SFA by 85-64.................fell behind early then fight back to 2 then fall back again ..........Howard had 19 in 40 minutes and Brooks 16/12/4A/3S/1B and only 1 TO................Coach gets tossed........UCA had 26 fouls to only 12 on SFA................as Justin pointed out this was much better than last year when SFA won by 50 at FC and Bears fall by 21 on the road this year......
shot 46% but only 3/7 FTs.............Bears won rebs 36/32 but way too many TOs at 27...........

SFA is very good and this was on the road................

Coach Boone..........SFA pressured and very physical........could not handle the ball well enough......shot well but TOs kept us from getting more shots........we aspire to be a SFA.............they are the standard in the SLC

Be safe coming home tonight and get ready for next Tue vs HBU at FC..........

Well, we scored 64 points....it's better than it was a few years ago when we were going down there and scoring in the 40's.

SFA is a tough place to play.

Folks, I know your tired of me saying this....we are headed in the right direction. It is getting better.

Hang in there.

HBU 30-42=72
UCA 28-33=61

This appears to have been a 50/50 game as late as 9:30 to go...........HBU pushes it out to 8-10 then we close back to 3 then the bottom fell out...........HBU was +12 on FTs in H2 and the Bears hit only 1/13 3s in H2.........HBU made more FTs than we shot and we had 3 palyers foul out and another had 4..............e had 24 TOs but outrebounded HBU by 46-29........shot only 32% FGs, 27% 3s and 65% FTs......if we are going to have 24 TOs and lose that many possessions then we have to shoot much better to make up for that........Jordan Howard scored 27 but also had 6 TOs..........Kamba had 10 and Zuilhof grabbed 10 rebs.......

They are gettng there slowly...HBU is 6-0 in SLC play which ain't too shabby.

Your right JRK...they are getting there. They played well at times, but then all of a sudden could not make a shot. Still hanging with them. :)

It's the little things that are improving game after game and that is a great thing to see! They will get there eventually!

UCA 42+52=94 (2-4/3-13)
NSU 47+36=83 (1-5/5-15)

Nice road win especially being down 5 at half......very good shooting with 54% FGs, 50% 3s and 75% FTs........+ on rebs.............+4 on TOs and only 14 at that..........Brooks puts up 29/7, Kamba 21/5, Howard 16/5 and Foreman 11/5......Zuilhof adds another 8/6

Just keep playing hard.....one step at a time ........now to NOLA...good job to the guys.......
