If the team takes this as a sign of what they can do if they keep improving, then they will have success. Shot well (>47%), rebounded well, won TOs by +4 (including getting 11 steals)..........hometeam was +17 on FTs and got to line 34 times while Bears saw the stripe onlty 11 times........classic homecourt advantage........still had a chance to get the win.............keep working..................good progress........ |

At UALR UCA 28-45=73 UALR 38-41=79 Bears got off a bit slow in H1 but played really well in H2 to close gap. UCA/UALR FG%: 49%/49% 3s: 44%/38% FTs: 19-24-78%/20-23-87% TO: 19/8 Rebs: 32/26 Basically the <11> TOs turned into <22> for points off TO and that was the game. Brooks had 16/7 for Bear and Howard tallied 22. Kamba had none with about 8-9 minutes remaining then finished with 9 going 7/7 for FTs. Not a win but another game better than last year and shows some consistency. |

OU hititng 59% for 3s in out of sight.......OU won 3s by 39-21.......hard to overcome that........that's shoot around accuracy.........it does look like our guys hustled and never quit .won TOs by 9 to 10 , blocked 4 shots and had 6 steals........ |

At Pitt UCA 23-24=47 Pitt 50-50=100 Shot 31% and 1/12 from 3s...... "My emotions are really mixed right now,' said UCA head coach Russ Pennell. "I thought we started off the game competing better than we did against Oklahoma (on Thursday). Our effort was better. Sometimes you can try really hard and don't think, and that's kind of what I thought we did. Certainly basketball ratings are suspect but the below is interesting using the Sagarin ratings as to strength of schedule to date. This is only after about 10 games and will change quickly as conference play starts but it is a measure of out of conference schedules: 1 - Incarnate Word 2 - Nicholls State 3 - Northwestern State 4- Eastern Michigan 5- Louisiana-Lafayette 6- UAPB 7- Monmouth 8- Western Carolina 9-McNeese State 10-Long Beach State 11- Sam Houston State 12- UC-Santa Barbara 13-Boise State 14- UCA 15- Morgan State Now some names: Michigan State - 152 Oklahoma - 219 Kansas - 120 North Carolina - 31 Duke - 109 Arizona - 240 Butler - 224 No Top 25 team in Sagarin had a SOS of better than 21........ |
