Is it just my imagination, or has this team responded in a very positive way to Coach Boone. It seems like they play harder and more disciplined than they ever did for Coach P. |

@SLU UCA 21-44=65 (9-10) SLU 35-34=69 (5-14) UCA/SLU FGs: 41% v 37% 3s: 12% v 36%....Bears only 2/17...Lions +7 made FTs: 70% v 84%....Bears +3 made but still missed 8 Rebs: 41 v 30 TOs: 20 v 14....TOs are killers.... Koval 19/9/1B.....Kayouloud 13/9/2B......Bergerson 12/6/1S/1B.....down at one point by 20...… Now probably have to beat Demons Sat who are playing well and won by 22 tonight to get to Katy....Go Bears!! Bubble Teams......5 playing for last 4 spots.... Lamar 10-9...home vs McNeese McNeese 9-10...@Lamar UCA 9-10 … home vs NWS Northwestern 10-9...@UCA TAM 9-10...home vs HBU (4-15) All could end up 10-10.... |

NWS@UCA NWS 51-49=100 (11-9) UCA 42-43=85 (9-11) NWS/UCA FGs: 48% v 44% 3s: 47% v 32%..Demons +3 made..each team shot >30 FTs: 87% v 80%... Demons +14 made....made 11 more than Bears shot Rebs: 41 v 26..Demons 26 -rebs vs Bears 9 o-rebs TOs: 14 v 10 Got whipped on boards badly and did not get to line near enough.....Bergerson fine 25/3/3A/1S/1B.....Kayouloud solid 19/3.....Koval 16/4/3B....Jones a very solid 14/5/9A..... Still a remote chance but dwindling quickly.....the loss at SLU was a big loss.... Glad to see the Bears rally this season and play some very good ball many times...Go Bears!! |

Koval, a junior center from Prosper, Texas, was named to the SLC All-Defensive team for the third consecutive year. Bergersen, who transferred to UCA from Brigham Young University, led the Bears in scoring and finished sixth in the SLC with a 15.8-point average. He finished second on the team with 43 three-pointers and made a team-best 132 free throws while dishing out 87 assists and pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game. Bergersen scored in double figures in 28 of 31 games, with a career high of 25 points twice in the final four games. Over the last five games of the season, with UCA battling for a postseason tournament spot, Bergersen averaged 21 points per game. Koval, who set the UCA school record for blocked shots early in his sophomore season, led the Southland in blocked shots for the third straight season with 95 and [b]is third in the nation among active players with 272[/b].Koval averaged 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots per game, while recording six double-doubles. |
