UCA at Abilene Christian, 9/25/14

whew..too exciting.. Schnars ends up with 27 kills and a .382 avg...Singleton had 17 kills but had 17 errors..ugh...Hjembo had 62 assists..wow....Berringer with 20 digs.....team outshot ACU by .382 to .182 in G5 for the win...moves to 6-7 on season .....off to San Antonio for 2pm date on Sat at Incarnate Word

Game 5: SuagrBears sneak away with 15-12 win to take the match....

Game 4: Bears stage comeback for 25-20 win, 2-2

Schnars caught fire and now has 23 kills for .340 avg....

Game 3: ACU gets win by 25-21, 1-2

Game 2: UCA bounces back for 25-22 win, 1-1

Game 1: ACU wins 25-22, 0-1

Amy South not in stats.....


NOTE...UCA took 19 more shots than ACU, made 14 more and had 7 more errors...so, on the extra 19 shots they shot a superb .368...

Heather had an awesome week hitting .421 and the honor is well earned.....

Think I read where Scout Brooks is out for the season....Amy South went out during the UNLV game and has not played since...she did not seem badly injured but not playing for this long means something....

On the road again this week at UNO (0-4/5-11) on Thur and SELA (2-1/4-10) on Sat.....SELA has wins over UNO and TAMCC with a loss to HBU..their OOC schedule was pretty solid....

SBs took care of business and shot lights out (.446) overall but generally did not play consistently with intensity...when they did it was absolutely no match....seemed like whenever we needed a point Schnars took over (shot .588) ...even with wins by 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16 it was not even that close...... credit Nicholls for great hustle and some very good serving........Dittrich on fire shooting .714.......nearly a packed house

SBs now 7-0/12-7 just ahead of SFA at 6-0 who is the only remainng unbeatened team.....

Next up is Lamar (3-2/3-14) on Thur night and Sam Houston State (4-1/11-7) on Sat at 2pm ...

Made my first trip ever to the PRINCE to watch the SUGARBEARS on Saturday
Vs. Nicholls...I will be back. It was highly entertaining and I just didn't realize
how athletic the ladies were. The skill level is tremendous and the non stop
action is a big positive.
