There isn't an official announcement yet, but here is our schedule on UCA Sports.

Some nice OOC matches with UALR (@ OU), who had a fantastic season last year, and OU.
UALR, OU, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Seton Hall, NW State, and Oakland all made it to the NCAA tournament last year!
No home matches until 9/17
It will be interesting to see how this coaching transition goes. Hopefully we will have a strong showing (we lost a lot of talent due to graduation) and make it back to the SLC Tournament since we are hosting it again this year!

Great honor to our VolleyBears....she, Amy and Megan are very worthy selections........ as for Heather as repeat POY, what else can we say? Not only is she a technically exceptional player but her on court leadership and tenacity is as good as any UCA athlete I have seen in any sport. The team and fans feel we are never out of a game as long as Heather is on the court. We have had some great VB players the past decade (since I have been watching) and Heather is right at the very top.

Hope they make a strong run and get back to finals and take it to TAMCC this weekend.

Conway – The Southland Conference announced its All-Conference teams and individual awards for volleyball on Wednesday, and the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears were well-represented. Senior Heather Schnars was named the league's Player of the Year for the second straight season, while sophomore Megan Nash joined her on the first team, and senior Amy South took home second team honors.

Schnars, from Downey, California, was named to the All-Southland first team for the third straight year following a season in which she was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week five times. She led the Southland both total kills (258) and kills per set (4.69), while ranking fourth in the league with a .340 hitting percentage. She also ranked third in the conference in service aces per set (0.40) a statistic in which she ranks second in the nation on the year with an average of 0.58 aces per set. Schnars also carried her weight defensively, ranking second on the team with 2.78 digs per set and collecting 25 blocks on the season for an average of 0.45 per set. She tallied nine double-doubles in 16 conference matches. Her season average of 4.22 kills per set is the third-most in school history, while her 59 service aces rank eighth.

"Heather's accomplishments in this program and in the Southland Conference are unparalleled," said UCA head coach Jeni Jones. "She has the ability to produce on a consistent basis, and is the epitome of what it means to be a playmakers and a point-scorer. We as a staff and as a program, are thrilled to celebrate and be a part of this well-deserved recognition for Heather."

Joining Schnars on the All-Southland first team is Nash, from Oakville, Ontario. After a successful freshman campaign last year, the right side saw a statistical boost across the board in her first season under Jones. She led the team and ranked second in the Southland with an average of 1.29 blocks per set, while hitting .286 and averaging 2.22 kills per set. Her 1.31 blocks per set on the season is tied for the third-highest average in school history.

"Megan has proven to be a double-threat at the net with her blocking and attack efficiency," said Jones. "She is a very smart attacker with a great work ethic to make herself a part of as many plays as possible. Megan has done a tremendous job so far this season, and we know that the best is still to come for her."

South, from Spring, Texas, played a key role in a Sugar Bear attack that ranked second in the Southland in hitting percentage (.249). She ranked third in the conference with an average of 10.25 assists per set on the year, while adding 2.25 digs per set and 0.25 service aces per set. Her season average of 9.53 assists per set is the 14th-highest in school history.

"Amy has done a great job of quarterbacking this team to a second-place finish," said Jones. "the mark of a great setter is their team's hitting percentage, and Amy runs an offense that ranks second in the conference in that statistic. Her leadership and competitive nature has been a driving force behind our team's success."

The Sugar Bears, who earned the second seed in this weekend's Southland Conference Volleyball Championship, take to the court at the Farris Center on Friday at 6:30 PM, taking on seventh-seeded Sam Houston State.
