McNeese @UCA Game 3: MSU 1-6-2 UCA 5-7-1 (8-7/15-17) Verel and Stone team up for solid 9 IP with 13 Ks.....Orlando another big game going 2/5 with 3 rbis…….Navarro also 2/5 and had a double with 2 rbis..Go Bears!! Game 2: Cowboys win 2-1...…...Noah Cameron pitched superb 7 innings with 6Ks and 70%+ strikes......just not enough offense...….. Cowboys 2-7-0 Bears 1-61 with 7 LOB.... Great news was in Game 1 with Cody Davenport pitching complete game for the win and tying school record with 48th career start...….. |

@Tennessee Tech Game 3: UCA 11-9-0 (16-19) TTU 5-12-3 Nice road win......and series win......Anders and Williams pitched a superb 8 IP giving up only 2 runs and rang up 11 Ks.....Smith led the offense going 2/5 with a double and 4 rbis….Navarro goes 3/5 with HR and 2 rbis…….7 in 9th was the ticket.... Road games to UALR and UAPB bracket big home series next weekend vs Kats... Game 2; UCA 9-11-0 TTU 7-9-2 3 Bear pitchers tally 11K with only 2 BBs but gives up 3 HRs.….offense gets it donw with Smith and Doran getting 3 hits each..came from a 5-0 deficit to tie on 7th and win with two unearned runs in 10th...... Game 1: UCA 2-4-2 TTU 3-3-0 Davenport pitches tremendous 8.2 IP but gives up two HRs, one the winning walk off...….7Ks and no BBs.... |

SHS@UCA Most impressive sweep of a very good team at the top of SLC.....what an exceptional pitching performance by Bear hurlers...….only 4 runs allowed in 27 innings...….only 19 hits...….tallied 24 Ks...…..a WHIP of only 1.00.....plus bats scored more than enough...……...16 runs on 16 hits...…..tremendous sweep when really needed...Go Bears!! Game 3: SHS 2-6-0 (14-7/22-15) UCA 6-6-1 (11-7/20-20) Verel gets the win with a strong 7 IP...Williams pitches 2 IP shutout in relief….5 Bears had an rbi…...Kats pitchers hit 5 UCA batters..... Very nice DH win today against SLC leader Kats...………….Bears now sit at 6th place..... Game 2: SHS 1-9-1 (14-6) UCA 4-5-0 (10-7) Strong 6.2 IP by Cameron with 2.1 IP shutout in relief by Stone...…...3 run HR by Ragan in 7th...… Game 1: SHS 1-4-1 (14-5) UCA 6-5-0 (9-7) What else but a complete game by Davenport with 9Ks and only 1 BBs......Navarro and Doran each had 2 rbis….. |

Trying to find consistency with a young team. Last wknd was major shot in the arm, and now we have a chance to finish very strong with a favorable schedule coming up. The trip to San Antonio will not be easy; UIW might be the class of the league, but the rest of the games are against the bottom half. Verel and Cameron are budding stars. Great to see them hitting their stride |

@UAPB UCA 13-14-0 (21-20) UAPB 3-4-1 (6-32) Ragan, Johnson, Doran and Brasher each tally two hits and Doran and Navarro each get 2 rbis…...4 base thefts......Bears get early 5-0 lead then cruise...…..7 Bears take the mound......Gilbertson pitches 1st and 2nd only and gets the win...……...
