I can't believe we let this weekend get away...that kind of stuff just cannot happen. We have to find a way to finish teams off or this last 2 weeks of the season could become a disaster. The key is to find a way into the tournament. You make it and who knows what could happen. Now we are lumped in the middle of the SLC, and will have to find a way to survive the logjam. --UCA (13-11)-- @SELA (20-4) McNeese (17-10) --HBU (12-12)-- SHSU (15-9) @TAMUCC (11-13) --TAMUCC (11-13)-- @UIW (9-15) HBU (12-12) --ACU (11-13)-- NSU (16-7) UIW (9-15) It definitely helps that some of these teams have to play each other. Should be an interesting last 2 weekends. C'mon BEARS! |

@SELA Game 2: Bears win 10-9 to go to 14-12/243-20...trailed 5-1 then surged to 10-5 after top of 3rd..then had to hang on... http://www.ucasports.com/news/2015/5/9/BB_0509154324.aspx UCA 10-10-0 SLU 9-17-2 3 doubles and a HR helped the cause.....Stitch threw 3 shut out innings to finish the ggame.... Game 1: Bears really struggling...Gilmore gets another complete game and gives up 2 runs on 5 hits but loses 6-0.....somehow got to get some wins but Lions are playing really well....now 13-12/23-20......5 SLC games to go vs #1 SELA and #3 McNeese..at least Cowboys at Conway..... currently tied with HBU for 6th in standings..TAMCC and ACU (not eligible) very close behind..... http://www.ucasports.com/news/2015/5/8/BB_0508154046.aspx |

UCA wins game 1 vs. McNeese State by one run. I will however say that the UMP in that game missed some easy calls. Most were against the Cowboys. Some obvious pitches over the plate that even Steve O screamed about had makeup calls. Hope he moves on to first base or something. Hate to win that way. It ended up being pretty even and their records indicated that. Good Cowboy crowd too. |

SLC Tourney at Sugarland, TX http://www.southland.org/documents/2015/4/2/2015_Baseball_Tournament_Bracket.pdf Wednesday, 5/20 games: Game #1: #3 Nicholls State vs #6 UCA, 9am Game #2: #2 Northwestern State vs #7 HBU, noon Game #3: #1 SELA vs #8 TAMCC, 4pm Game #4: #4 McNeese State vs #5 Sam Houston State, 7pm Colonels took 2 of 3 from Bears in early April at Bear Field BUT Bears won Game 1 by 7-0. |
