Game 3......Echols pulled after 8 solid 3 hit innings. Bears lose in 10th go figure |

UAPB 3-8-2 (6-17) UCA 4-8-2 (12-11), 11 innings Wow, glad to get this done............trailed 2-1 until bottom of 7th when Bears took 3-2 lead only to give it up in 8th.........Strong gets the walk off single to score Haun for the win........Montalvo and Hancock each had two hits ...........Neal, Gray, Beier and Murray combined for the win with 14 Ks, 3 BBs and 2 HBP........... Golden Lions used 10 pitchers who had 7 Ks, 5 BBs and 3 HBP including the winning run in the 11th...... Bears head off for the wilds of Huntsville this weekend for three big games with the Kats (6-3/11-12).......Go Bears!! |

Game 1 at SHS UCA 0-4-1 SHS 2-6-0 Preston and Anderosn each go 2/4.......Gilmore goes 8 for loss ina very good pitching outing.......2/6 with 2Ks and 3 BBs.......Odom throws 4 hit complete game for Kats.......two really good pitchers.......... Gilmore gave up 3 of the 6 hits in 1st and that was the difference.........have to get back at it tomorrow for a win.......Go Bears!! |

GAme 2 at SHS UCA 3-5-2 (5-6/12-13) SHS 6-12-0 (8-3/15-13) Bears too early 3-0 lead then Kats tied in 4th and added three more in 6th and 7th. Davenport went 6.1 with 5 Ks and gave up 5 ER on 10 hits including a 3-run HR. Hancock had 2 rbis and Montalvo went 2/4. Need to salvage a win Sunday to stay in middle of SLC pack. Go Bears!! |

Game 3 at SHS UCA 7-14-1 (5-7/12-14) SHS 9-10-0 (9-3/16-13) Bears led 6-0 after 1st but Kats tied in 5th then took 8-6 lead in 6th on a UCA error and wild pitch..........Bears got one in 9th adn left one on.11 LOB in total.............Balisterri went 4/5 with 3 rbis and White was 3/5 with i rbi..........pitching just could not hold up........Kats relief hurlers got the job done with one run over 4.1 innings.......... Bears have UAPB next on Tuesday then at home then to Corvallis next weekend for three vs Oregon State......... |

Swept at #7 Oregon State but Bears hung in............ Bears now 5-7/13-17 and need some wins...........next game is at home vs UALR (15-16 and just 2 of 3 at Georgia State) on Wed....then the weekend at Nicholls /5-10-14-20)...... |

Rock N Roar Part 2 UALR 1-9-1 (15-17) UCA 6-4-0 (14-17) Bears trio of Gray, Neal and Duham combine for the one run win.............while giving up 9 hits they had 7 Ks and only one BB/HBP........no fielding errors also helped...... Bears hitters had a sharp eye and added 16 BB/HBP to 4 hits to tally 6 runs........ Now off to Nicholls for an important SLC matchup then to Vandy next Tuesdaay........ |

@Nicholls Game 3: UCA 7-12-0 (6-9/15-19) NSU 2-7-0 (16-21) Echols goes a fine 8.1 innings even though he gave up 4 BBs a balk and a wild pitch..........McCarty and Balisterri each go 2/4 with 2 rbis and Strong goes 2/4 wuth one rbis....Townsend goes 3/4........ Beas off to Vanderbilt for a Tueesday game thenback home for the weekend vs Northwestern State Game 2: UCA 5-13-2 NSU 6-10-0 Bears ggt 3 in 8th to tie 4-4 then give up 2 in bottom of 8th and tally one in 9th........Davenport pitched solid 7 with 4 runs on 8 hits with 9 Ks.....Townsend 3/5 with 3 rbis.......Colonel's scored 5th run on an error by LF and then winning run scored on a passed ball..... tough loss........try again Sunday..... Game 1: UCA 2-4-3 NSU 8-9-0 Colonels get 5 in 7th as one walked in, another scores on a wild pitch and another scores on an error.........Gilmore really roughed up with 6 runs on 6 hits and 3BBs...... Try again tomorrow..........important to get some SLC wins....... |

Almost got the win! Very proud of these Bears! They lose 8-6 but had two on and one out in the 9th. Onto NWST this weekend.......get this.......at home! |
