Northwestern State at UCA Game 3: NWS 7-12-2 (11-10/20-18) UCA 5-11-1 (7-11/16-22) Bears battle back to tie in 9th but fall in 10 by 7-5 and left tying run on base in bottom of 10th. Game 2: NWS 3-11-1 (10-10/19-18) UCA 6-9-1 (7-10/16-21) Good to get a win in the series...........Bears led start to finish...........Davenport went a solid 6.2 with 6Ks and Beier threw shutout relief.......Go Bears!! Game 1: NWS 3-7-0 (18-18) UCA 2-8-1 (15-21) Gilmore pitches a very solid 8 although he gave up 4 BB/HBP.........still more than good enoudh to win......if we woud not have had 10Ks at the plate and could not get the timely hit leaving 8 on base........Demons score winning run after advancing to 3B on an error.........hoping for bats to work better Game 2 and 3.......Go Bears!! |

@UNO Game 1: (11 innings) UCA 4-12-3 UNO 3-10-0 Bears fall behind early (2 unearned runs and a HR) then score three ( 2 doubles and a sacrifice) in 4th to tie and no more runs until 11th when Strong triples and then scores on a wild pitch. Davenport ptiched pretty solid 8.1 innings with no BB/HBP then Gray shuts UNO down for the win. Strong and Balistierri each had 3 hits and Anderson had 2 with a big rbi double. Take this one and get going tomorrow with the bats better..........even with 11 innnings we should have plenty of pitching. |

@UNO Game 3: UCA 3-3-1 UNO 7-7-0 Echols gives up 6 and could not get out of 2nd inning.............just too far back to catch up.......home next weekend vs Incarnate Word....at least we won this series.............. |

Incarnate Word vs UCA Imporant sweep to get back to 12-12 in SLC play..........UAPB at The Bluff on Tuesday then off to McNeese for the weekend............ Game 3: IWU 4-9-1 UCA 20-21-0 (12-12/21-23) 11 runs in 2nd.........Langley and Hancock each had 4 rbis......... Game 2: IWU 10-12-5 UCA 21-22-0 (11-12/20-23) Not exactly a pitchers duel...............glad to see the bats get used the past two games.......even a couple of HRs by Montalvo and Preston plus 22 triples and four doubles......Logan goes 4/5 with 6 rbis.......Langley and Montalvo each had 3 rbis.......Cards used 7 pitchers and Bears used 5.......each team gave up 8 BBs.......... Game 1: IWU 0-7-0 UCA 9-13-0 (10-12/19-23) |

Losing series at McNeese thsi weekend was tough to take after winnning Game 1............back below 500 at 13-14/24-25..........we are now in 8th with HBU one game back and Nicholls two.........after the mid week game vs ualr we close out at home vs SELA...........last weekend SLC games as below....... SELA, 22-5......at UCA SHS, 21-6....home vs HBU LU, 17-10......at SFA NWS, 17-10.....home vs ACU UNO, 14-13.....at Nicholls SFA, 14-13......home vs LU MSU, 15-15.....at Washington State UCA, 13-14.....home vs SELA.........Bears hold tiebreaker over HBU........Nicholls holds over Bears......UCA really needs to at least one HBU, 12-15.....at SHS........root for Kats to win two........ NSU, 11-16.......home vs UNO........need UNO to win 2 This is the make or break weekend.....we hold tiebreaker over both SFA, UNO and HBU....... Sweep Lions and get to 16-14..........could tie either UNO or SFA but we move up in seed vs either......pretty big ask to sweep #1 Win 2 vs Lions and get to 15-15 and tie McNeese who holds the tiebreaker........assures UCA #8 at least and as high as 6th if UNO and SFA get swept.......
