On the payroll: Receivers coach Mike Norvell is in his first year as a full-time Hurricane assistant after working as a graduate assistant the past two years.

What's the difference? Not much, from a work standpoint.

"Even though I didn't have the financial aspects of being a full-time coach, I got to coach the receivers, so really not as much change there. I love working with those guys," Norvell said.

The big change is the money going into Norvell's pocket.

"The pay's increased, so I'm all about that. I know my wife's a lot happier," he said.

Former Bear Mike Norvell officially named co-offensive coordinator[/url], receivers coach and director of recruiting at Pitt. Officially big time.

And one thing that was interesting to me is that a couple of people I talked to from Tulsa were really disappointed they lost Norvell because he is -- and this is a direct quote - a "bulldog and a stud recruiter", similar to Jeff Hafley. The guy apparently doesn't take a rest from recruiting and got Tulsa into doors of certain players homes they could only dream of getting into in the past. Keith Patterson, who is one of the new assistants, told me that Norvell landed some guys at Tulsa against some much bigger schools.Obviously, time will tell on that one but it sure sounds like, with Gibson and Norvell, Graham has a few guys whose reputation is as recruiters.

Trey already mentioned it, but here's ASU's official release.

Congrats.

Mentioned as candidate for Florida opening..........

http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2017/oct/30/mcelwain-florida-mutually-part-ways-201/

"The Gators could look to hire another offensive-minded coach to start the next rebuild.

Mississippi State's Dan Mullen is a likely choice. The 45-year-old Mullen was Florida's offensive coordinator under Urban Meyer and worked for Stricklin in Starkville, Miss. His resume includes a No. 1 draft pick (Alex Smith), an NFL Rookie of the Year (Dak Prescott) and a Heisman Trophy winner (Tim Tebow). Mullen also is familiar with the pressure of coaching in the SEC and in Gainesville.

Other possible candidates: Syracuse's Dino Babers, Iowa State's Matt Campbell, Central Florida's Scott Frost, Southern Methodist's Chad Morris and Memphis' Mike Norvell (University of Central Arkansas)."
