The lack of exposure the ADG gives Bears' sports is shameful. It is like if your initials don't start with UA, then we will bury your story (if they print it at all) as deep in the small print columns as they can.

Hey, the UAF sports play at the highest level of competition, no one questions that. The SEC is the best overall conference in America. But, UCA is central Arkansas premier sports program and its sports are great to watch. It is still what College sports are suppose to be about. The ADG could use its "ink" to introduce thousands of central Arkansans to great entertainment, if they would take their blinders off.

We could do something about this if we would. I had a guy in Harp's grocery store in Springdale try to give me a copy of ADG. I told him I didn't have any use for their rag because I'm a UCA fan and don't like the way they jack us around. His response was "why are you whining to me instead of writing letters to the people who could do something about it ?" If enough UCA fans wrote enough letters we'd get better coverage.

Former Bruin eyes NFL draft: Markell Carter rated High in defensive end rankings

His best marks have been a time of 4.66 in the 40-yard dash, a broad jump of 10-feet-2-inches, and 17 reps benching 225 pounds.

That last number is bit misleading, Carter said, because he actually had 21 reps, but four were not counted.

Carter also was measured in the vertical jump at 35-feet-and-a-half-inches.

He also worked out for two pro teams, who may be interested in either drafting him, or in a free agent look, depending on what happens later this month.

Very nice article on Markell at this link... ADG could learn from these guys.

don't know about the 35 foot verticle though. That would be a record

I'm also still waiting on the story from Arkansas Sports 360.
Somehow the ASU guy drafted 21 spots after Markell gets his own story, but there's only been literally a mention of Markell as part of the "drafted players with ties the state" list.

Comment here if you'd like.

We've been through this before. The adg will do the very least they can to recognize UCA. This must come from pretty high up. A sports writer told me a few years back he would like to cover more UCA events but he had clear instructions to cover events on the hill. I recall his article that weekend was on tailgating or something on Dickson Street.

Many years ago at an event Orville Henry spoke a person in the crowd asked why the ag (at the time) did not cover more AIC events. His quick and arrogant answer was that no one really cared. Well, I guess that put us in our place.

The fact is UCA has had three defensive ends drafted in the past few years and that is sports news of importance.

Some day Arkansas will grow up and have some media that actually covers all the schools with enthusiam but it will take work. However do not think the monopolist will let that happen without a fight.

Someone must have cared at some point. Coach Benson's passing has spawned a ton of coverage regarding the coach and his days at OBU.

Coach Benson was a hog QB in the 50s. He is certainly deservng of the attention for his work at OBU.

So you're saying it is our fault because we don't put pressure on the sports media to give UCA more coverage? I would think as a true sport's media entity that they should be doing that to start with.

I really don't think we as fans should have to post comments to them begging for the additional coverage. I'm in the fan business - not the media business. I think we have people in our athletic program responsible for "getting the word out". Maybe you should be scolding them instead of us.
