Logan is on the Royals AA team in Springdale and a regular for the Naturals. He was hitting about 260 through 110 at bats a week or so ago. He made two tremendous run down catches in RF to save a win vs Corpus Christi plus another throw that was big league.

Saw Logan on July 4 as NWA Naturals played Frisco. Pitching for Frisco was Yu Darvish of the Rangers coming off the DL on a rehab assignment. While Darvish did not start sharp, after two walks on 8 pitches to start the game he then struck out 5 before he left after one batter in 3rd (40 pitch limit). His curve looked solid after he got in the groove with a huge break running away from a right handed batter. Fastball at about 92. I say all this as the Naturals only had two hits off Darvish including a double ripped into the RF corner by Logan.

Moon went 1 for 2 (2B and KO) plus a walk. He ended the game hitting just shy of 270. He also made a couple of nice catches after long runs across the ouitfield and had a chance to make a throw to home after chasing down a line drive but bobbled the ball on the pick up............he has made that throw for a put out in a prior game. No error.

Nats win 4-3 and Darvish got the loss. Royals fans can look forward to seeing Bonino Pruneda as a set up man or closer...this guy throws strikes in all quadrants of the zone at 94-97 mph.........

Logan continues to hit about 260 and plays a solid RF.

Tonight Logan led off 10th with a single, advanced to 2B on a bunt and to 3B on a wild pitch then scored the winning run as the NWA Naturals won the game to tie the Travelers for the Texas League North 2nd half lead with one game to go between the Nats and Travs on Labor Day.

He also made a nice catch along RF line and on a line drive down the line he cut it off and made a bullet throw to nearly throw out the runner at 2B.

KC Royals Minor League Recognition
"Logan Moon, Outfielder - Logan Moon was the recipient of the Mike Sweeney Award, which recognizes a player who best represents the organization on and off the field. The 25-year old outfielder spent the entire 2016 season with Northwest Arkansas and hit .254 games in 107 games. Moon was selected in the sixth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft."

I saw Logan play several times in Springdale last season; he has a very good arm and excellent awareness in the field. Needs some work with the bat but 254 is not bad vs Texas League pitching at his stage. Hoping I get to see him this season make a good step toward AAA or beyond.

Met Logan once and talked to him a little bit a while back. He wasn't exactly fond of his time at UCA.
