The ladies went 2-1 at the ULM tourney last weekend.................wins over North Texas (5-4) and Grambling State (10-0) with a loss to opening game loss to UT-Martin by 3-1.

At the LSU Purple and Gold Challenge, the competition heated up with a 1-0 loss to Oregon State then a 3-0 loss to #7 LSU.............tomorrow they play Southern Utah at 9:30am then La Tech at noon .

Ran into a buzz saw in Oregon State game as the Beavers pitcher had 12 Ks........UCA could manage only three base runners.........Rachel Haberman pitched 5 innings of 3 hit scoreless ball in relief..............

The LSU pitcher also had a fine game with a two pitch shutout with 7 Ks.......UCA pitchers did well against a solid SEC offense......

Now 2-3 overall.........Go UCA!!

Still at the LSU Purple and Gold today and split with Southern Utah taking the win 10-3 then dropping Game 4 to La Tech by 8-7. Against the Techsters UCA fell behind 5-0 then stormed back to lead 7-5 after 5th but could not hold...Kate Myers went 3/4 with a double and RBI vs Tech and 3/4 with 2 rbis vs Southern Utah.

Falls to 3-4 ......UCA Tourney next Thursday thru Sunday with games vs Kansas, Austin Peay, UAPB, Coppin State and South Dakota State.

SBs now 5-8 after dropping first two games at Madeira Beach Tourney..........

SIU 4-7-2 (5-2)
UCA 0-5-1 (2-5)

Kailla Searcy pitches Ok over 6 innings with only 6 hits and 2 BBs but gave up 2 HRs....also picked up only extra base hit......just not enough hits to move base runners around........

Game 2:

UCA 3-8-2 (2-6)
EMU 6-9-1 (3-8)

Had our chances with 6 BB/HBP and 6 hits but Eastern Michigan made better use of their 11 base runners with extra base hits.........damage was done in first two innings.........Ellie Reaves went 5 solid innings in relief........

Take on LIU-Brooklyn and Seton Hall tomorrow then end up vs Villanova on Sunday..........

At the Eastern Michigan Madeira Beach Tournament.........

UCA may have achieved a first today in beating Villanova 9-6 in a walk off run in 8th on a 3 run HR by Cylla Hill...........not sure we have ever beaten the Wildcats in any sport (and may have never played them)........Libby Morris had a 2 run HR to tie game at 4 and Lauren Brooks gave UCA it first lead on her HR........Ellie Reaves got the win with 6 innings of very solid relief.............

UCA moves to 7-9 after splitting yesterday with an 8-6 win over LIU-Brooklyn and losing 4-3 to Seton Hall......

Now 7-9.........

SLC play starts next Friday home vs McNeese...............

Searcy pitched well until top of 7th and gave up 4 runs.........Haberman shut the Cowgirls down in relief on three pitches......Morris 3/3 with 3 rbis........

Sanchez goes the distance for the win..........Sizemore gets GWRI in the 5th ....

Hats off to the ladies for a sweep of the #25 ranked team.........great job with a come from behind extra inning win today!!! Trailed 5-0 after 2 and again 6-5 in the 9th........

Morris led the way with a3/5, a run, 4 rbis with a double and HR.......Myers also 3/5 with a run and rbi........a statistical oddity as Shepard went 0/1 but got on base 5 times with 3 BB and 2 HBP and still did not score.......Sanchez got the win with 8 innings of relief but gave up 13 hits and only 1 run.........McTaggart pinch hits and gets GWRBI as she walked with bases loaded to score Myers.........

Next games are Tue and Wed at home vs Alcorn State and Ok State.............Go SugarBears!!

This is terrific show of good sportsmanship by our ladies, their coaches and fans...........nice articles in the Mississippi State University campus paper.....quote below must mean they have forgiven us for winning 3 of 5 in baseball a few years back and nearly knocking them out of the NCAA baseball tourney!!!!

I have met a lot of nice folks from MSU over the years..........Bears and Bulldogs have had some good contests on the field of play.........hopefully many more to come.....

Game 1: Felts lead with 3/4 at plate with 2 runs scored......Haberman needed 80 pitches to get thru 8 innings and gave 5 runs on 9 hits but no BB/HBP and no Ks.........scores 1 in 7th but left runners on 2nd and 3rd after bases loaded with no outs........
