Great start to the season. MVS was as expected. It was hard to get a read on the team when most of the opponents players were just not very good. On Sunday evening, the Bears were a bit slow adjusting to the speed and quickness of the Bulldogs. The were on their hills a bit for about 15 to 20 minutes. After that the run of play evened out as our touches were better and the decisions were quicker and more crisp. In the second half, the Bears held the better of the possession until late in the game when down 0-2, the bulldogs took advantage of some sloppy play and managed some chances. This freshmen class is very strong. Two freshmen started both games, Allie Coleman and Shelby Wilson. possibly the best of the freshmen, Kate Koch didn't start, but has the look of a real difference maker when on the field. Sophomore Keeper Haley Romero redshirted last year so is athletically a freshman. While it was hard to tell much about her in the MVS games sice she only took one shot on goal, she was solid against LT. We should be in good shape at keeper this season. Show up and Be Bear Friday at 7 PM for Light 'Em Up! |
