Very good outing at Memphis Twilight. Both teams did well against some SEC and regional schools. This is a unique night cross country race that ends inside the soccer stadium...great setup.

SugarBear Brooke Cassar women's 5k race in a nice 17:16 and Edward Limo was 9th in the men's. Cassar is in her first season of CC for UCA and won the SLC 10k in outdoor track last spring.

Brooke gets weekly SLC honors.

Not sure how Brooke got here but she is a good one....Erika is homegrown from Conway High School...... it always helps distance runners to have someone to run with....

SLC honors also....

Another good meet for our top runners with great finishes at Rhodes U meet in Memphis. This is a serious course so th times are for real...Cassar and Setzler go 2-3 again in very solid 6k times and Limo and Gerber go 1-5 in men's race. Both teams finished 2nd. Looks they were rewarded with post race meal at The Rendezvous.

The "JV" runners ran at Lake Charles.

These are TERRIFIC finishes for the teams, especially the SBs...for Cassar and Setler to be in Top 10 is OUTSTANDING. Finishing tied for 3rd as a team is the best we have ever done and maybe the best any Arkansas team other than uaf has done at Chile Pepper.

CP is a very fine meet on a tough cousre, especiallywhen wet like today. Both teams continue to improve and represent UCA well.

I don't follow CC much, but this seems to be good news for the team!

Men ranked #13 in the South Central Region
Women ranked #6 in the South Central Region

Team went up to Fayettenam and raced against the little piggies.... and that in-state competition didn't cause the campus to implode....it's still there...in all its glory...

The rankings have to be the best ever in D1....I think SBs were in Top 15 last season....Men have come a long way in a few short years since restarting the program......I can tell you that uaf CC and track coaches have never shied away from open competition.....they have long been good to welcome UCA, UALR and A-State athletes in their meets....I have never seen CC and track follks any where having problems competing....they live for it....both of our teams are having very good seasons....need to stay healthy and make some real noise at conference..

Two team wins and two indivual titles...great job. The competition was not the best but the times were very strong for UCA.....two SBs under 17 minutes for 5k is extremely good......Top 5 men all had solid times for 8k.....looks like they used this as tune up for SLC. Course is honest in distance and generally a fast course with no large hills...let's stay healthy and get a couple SLC titles .....

Both teams did well with SugarBears taking 2nd and Brooke Cassar winning the women's race. Erika Setzler was a very fine 3rd. Both Brooke and Erika make 1st team SLC. Kayla Nehus as SLC Honorable Mention at 13th. Great pics of Brooke and Erika at link above for WXC...and, of course, of Coach with his team.

Bears finished 5th out of 14 and close to 3rd. Amos Gerber was 11th and Edward Limo was 13th.

Lamar wins both men's and women's meets.

Congrats to both teams and to Brooke, our newest conference XC champion!!

Now to get ready for NCAA D1 Regionals at Waco.

NCAA D1 South Central Regional XC Meet
Waco, TX

Very good outing for both teams. SBs were 10th of 21 and Bears were 12th....

Booke Cassar was 7th in women and Erika Setzler was 18th...both very fine finishes...

Edward Limo was 20th for men....men step up from 8K (about 5 miles) at SLC to 10k (about 6.2M) at NCAAs...BIG difference although it does sound like it is....some solid 10K times for Bears with a freshman running 32:50..... solid time for one year out of high school where boys run only 5k....

Congrats to our harriers.....
