3/23/14 at Lamar UCA 3-7-1 (4-4/14-20) LU 4-7-0 (7-1/12-10) Tough series......Cards take a walk off win...Forest again went 2/3 with 3 rbis and her 4th HR...a good weekend for her....Whisenhunt also collected two hits...Clampitt ptiched solid complete game... |

3/29/14 Home vs SELA Game 2: Bears win 3-0 for the DH win. Now 6-3/16-21. Bears up 3-0 in bottom of 5th...Whisenhunt sac flies to score Stirton for a 1-0 lead then Taylor hits 2-run HR for the 3-0 lead.... Game 1: Bears win 15-7.... |

4/5/14 at McNeese State Bears drop Game 1 by 4-0 and Game 2 by 4-2.....Cowgirls are 10-3/26-10 on the year....we are 7-8/17-27...need to try to steal a win tomorrow afternoon from a very good team.. |

4/6/14 at McNeese State UCA 1-4-1 (7-7/17-25) MSU 5-11-0 (11-3/27-10) Bears trail 5-1 in 7th....Cowgirls scored 4 in bottom of 1st to set the tone.....Taylor has a HR for UCA's sole run...pitchers have zero Ks so far.....6 losses to SLC #1 and #2.. Back home for 7 games...next weekend vs Northwestern State (6-7/17-17) |

4/17/14 vs Houston Baptist UCA drops game 5-2.....also dropped Game 1 by 6-2..... HBU 5-8-1 UCA 2-4-1 Whisenhunt goes 2/2 with a rbi..... Bottom of 6th; HBU leads 3-0.....Bears have only one hit......need to get the bats in action..... |

5/3/14 vs Nicholls State Game 2: NSU 2-9-1 UCA 1-6-0 (12-13/23-32) Studioso agains goes the distance and pitches very well......Taylor goes 2/3 but is the only one to get more than 1 hit...... Game 1: NSU 1-5-1 (18-31) UCA 3-8-3 (12-12/23-31) Studioso goes the distance and gets 16 Ks....Forrest and Bigej each go 3/4 and Bigej has an HR and 2 rbis.... Tourney takes only Top 6.....McNeese (17-6) and SHS (15-9) have Top2 seeds ....NWS, SFA, Lamar, HBU and UCA fighting this weekend for last 4 seeds... Lamar plays McNeese and SFA play SHS...... that could create an opening for UCA if we can win one of next two...may still take a sweep of Nicholls... Northwestern State plays SELA (10-14) and HBU plays TAMCC (10-13)..... |

UCA and Lamar are tied for the last tourney spot at 12-13. Lamar holds the tie breaker over us so we have to win and Cards have to lose. Cards lost two today to 1st place McNeese by 9-1 and 9-0. |

Bears take on #3 Sam Houston State in first game....let's go get the Kats...we have lost 10 games this year to bigger conference schools (ie, FBS and BCS foot ball conferences)...had we scheduled lower tier schools we could easily be something like 32-22 instead of the other way..we did not play Sam in the regular season.....just take it one inning and game at a time..... |
