Good to see Todd again......I doubt if we have played as fast since he left....

Maybe next the rules will limit receivers to only one beyond 10 yards downfield at any one time....Todd is exactly right, get your team in shape and learn to play against different schemes.....

If you saw the Cotton Bowl, OSU ran 96 plays (every 17 seconds) and Mizzou ran 91 (every 21)..I can tell you that in Q4 the defenses were gassed chasing receivers and scrambling QBs....still the game turned on a DE chasing a QB down from behind and LB running a fumble back 60+ yards....

How much of this is Nick vs Gus?

Oh he had an issue with the hurry up before Malzan returned to Auburn, was some Texas school with a QB named Johnny. A shame when these guys play the player safety card instead of working at stopping it. Had never heard Cooley before, he nailed it, sharp young coach

Lots of teams had Johnny issues for a year...then SEC defensive coaches figured out how to make someone else beat them.....

Sure they did, don't confuse a horrible defense with stopping a hurry up offense that put up 10,000 yards off total offense in two years in the Sec, hell manziels numbers were better in year two, but that is not what the post was about. Auburn is there, Ole Miss is getting close & A&M will continue. Saban and Bilemma don't want to have to defend hurry up offenses with 4 & 5 star athletes at skill positions, where they get exposed in space. This why theses guys want to change the rules instead of working at stopping it. The good news is I hear our new coach is a proponent of going fast as well and our new strength coach is getting the bears ready for it. The last thing we need IMO is for a stupid rule change that could hurt us to make it easier for nick Saban who recruits the top recruiting class almost every year and has every resource imaginable at his disposal. Todd Clooney nailed along with others, I merely posted this because of his history with UCA and thought he was a sharp young coach. We will see what happens, looking forward to the spring game in April
