Defensive battle so far at the end of the first half.

BTW, when did Paul Cantrell become the defensive coach for SHS? If it ain't him it must be his twin brother. :)

I do see the resemblance to Stoker. Of course we might not if either of them wore hats.

SHSU's offense isn't doing anything against that big D-line of NDSU.

Sam's vaunted option game was a non-factor all game long. NDSU obviously
knows how to defend the option. It seemed like there we two defenders for
every one of Sam's Offensive players. Also, Sam's passing game was terrible
to say the least. Another point...I don't know if anyone else noticed this. On
the int. return by NDSU down to the 1 yard line, it looked to me like the guy
fumbled the ball through the back of the end zone before he was down. In that
case I wondered why the Sam coaching staff didn't ask for a review of the play.
The player was clearly still in the air when the ball came out.

No doubt the play calling for Sam was very predictable. Even the wife wanted to know why Sam kept trying to run it up the middle with no success. The sideline reporter commented that Sam's coach said the Kats were going to keep doing what they were doing and eventually something would bust open for the Kats. Well guess what. The only thing that busted was the coach's hard-headiness in trying to run it up the gut time and time again. It was pretty evident, imo, that Sam needed to try some phase of a short passing game to spread the D a little.

But hey, like I told the wife, I'm on the couch and the coach is on the sidelines. Nuff said. Guess you can't win 'em all.
