NDSU is leading Iowa State 27-14 late in the 3rd! They have scored 27-unanswered points! They seem unstoppable!

5 min left NDSU 34-14!
I guess they didn't miss a beat.

Power 5 are again trying to stop P5 teams from playing FCS schools..saw where one Big 10 AD said it is not fair with FBS having 85 scholarships vs only 63 for FCS......Wally's column today was about how P5 teams learn nothing about themselves playing FCS teams.....well, schedule good FCS programs..ask Kansas State, Iowa State, Nebraska who have recently lost games...and many others who have had tough games (such as Texas Tech, Mizzou, Illinois, Kansas from this season) who have played some of the better FCS teams....

It's a dumb argument. Not all FCS schools are the same. Just as not all FBS schools are the same. To try and make a blanket statement is ignorant. Like saying that the SEC shouldn't schedule Sun Belt schools after watching Bama play FAU. Or the Big 12 should avoid Conference USA after OU whooped Tulsa.

Should any FBS school schedule a terrible FCS school, probably not. See Arkansas vs Nicholls - who finished 4-8 last season which followed two 1-win campaigns.
But when schedules are made years in advance, there's no way to guarantee that I guess.

That is spot on, Trey. You can't get caught up in division or conference titles. Yeah, playing a SWAC or MEAC opponent is usually not a test and every league has teams that are rarely a tough test. However, you don't schedule McNeese, UCA, Towson, most of the Big Sky or formerly the SoCon if you want an easy win.

If anything, give NDSU credit for scheduling those Big 12 pushovers. I would love to get Vandy, Wake Forest, half the Big 12 or Big Ten for a game.
