MIAMI, Okla. — Trey Lippe, the son of former heavyweight champion Tommy “The Duke” Morrison, is launching his professional boxing career.

Holden said the 6-foot-3, 225-pound heavyweight from Vinita has a legitimate chance to eventually contend in the heavyweight division.

“It’s unbelievable how he resembles his father,” Holden said. “He cracks like his father, meaning he’s a big puncher. When I first saw him after two months of work, I was blown away. And with the heavyweight division where it’s at, this kid’s got a legitimate shot. It’s going to be great to see him be built up right here in this neck of the woods.”

Doors for the event will open at 7 p.m. on Feb. 15. Tickets range from $20-$40 and can be purchased at the Buffalo Run Casino box office.

Update:

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/article118995618.html

Quote:
When Tommy Morrison captured the WBO heavyweight championship with a unanimous decision over George Foreman in 1993, Trey Lippe-Morrison wasn’t watching.

Just 3 at the time, the son of Tommy Morrison was playing with his brother in another room while other members of the family huddled around a television.

“I didn’t really understand what was going on,” Lippe said. “I was too young.”

Quote:
Lippe’s next challenge comes in the form of a 41-year-old Texas journeyman named Ty Cobb (19-7, 11 KOs). The two heavyweights will meet in a non-televised six-round bout on Saturday at Lippe’s home venue of Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla. A win will likely land Lippe another Showtime fight in February.

Quote:
“Tommy’s brother will tell you that Trey has more power than Tommy. Everybody says no way, but it’s true. I’m talking raw power. I’m not talking finesse or boxing ability at this point. But for straight, raw power, Trey has a bit more than Tommy, and he has it in both hands.”

Yikes! Both hands! =D>

Looks like Trey Lippe Morrison is returning to heavy weight boxing! Former UCA football Bear who has a lineage of bad @ss men...Two Dukes so to speak..

Quote:
Trey Lippe Morrison is a young man that I have had on “The “Bad” Brad Berkwitt Show” and have interviewed several times on Ringside Report. Each time, he displays humility, appreciation, and a burning to take his boxing career as far as it can possibly go. With those attributes, it’s a no brainer why this young heavyweight prospect with a record of 13-0, 13 KO’s is truly loved by his diehard fans around the world.

Come this March, Morrison makes his much-awaited comeback to the boxing ring and from our interview, he can’t wait!
