I wouldn't look to much into last years numbers against UCA, because thankfully we can say "This isn't the same team anymore" literally.

Exactly! This team and last years team can't be compared. Hopefully, this years team will be much better than last years team!

The team will be much better coached and their discipline will be much better implemented into their decision making on and off the court. The bull of selfish, poor choices is over with this coaching staff.

Coach basically said winning may not be in the cards this season and playing those upoer echelon teams may get ugly for us. But we are at ground zero with no place to go but up! =D>

Who would have thought this would be the highlight of the UCA Sports Day.

Great start for the new team though can't really take anything from playing Hendrix, getting a little tune up for the season.

91 - 71 UCA over University of the Ozarks in our final exhibition. Not a lot to take from this score just another tune up game. Some good play. Getting some wins before the season starts should help build some confidence. Had some fouling issues but with a young team you can expect that. Hitting around 50% on free throws hopefully get that up a bit in games to come. Hopefully got it all out before our big road opener on Friday. I don't really know what to expect Friday. I just hope unlike the last couple years even if we don't get the win we at make a respectable showing.

I went to the U of Ozark game. Here's my takeaway from that, keeping in mind it was a scrimmage.

#11 from U of Oz was the most aggressive person on that court. 31 points and outrebounded consistently our big guys. Even when we had 2 or 3 guys down low that team was able to rebound it.

Rebound aggression- We looked soft. But was that because of our opponent or really lack of aggression? NO idea.

The big guys shot free throws and traditionally big guys miss. That's to be expected I guess.

Defense- was better than in years past. Very fast paced but if Oz can bring it to within 20, what will better opponents do?

Offense- high arching slow passes. Not good. If you have a wingman open for a 3 and it takes enough time to allow the defender to run over to him before he catches the ball, we have a problem. Oz passes were quick and accurate allowing 3s to go up before the defender got there. Let's quicken those passes.

The constant movement by the offense was nice to see. No standing around.

The players all looked in shape.

But like I said, maybe they didn't play aggressive because of the opponent. I don't know. I'll have to see more games to decide.

Bears fall in Omaha...loss to Creighton not unexpected.....Bears shoot 45% for 3s and decent 70% FTs and OK 46% FGs....20 TOs too many but Creighton is no slouch and probaly had something to do with that....got outrebounded .....FR Boo Milligan scored 19 in only 24 minutes and Jordan Howard added 18......we will see how they do in next couple games but this may turn out to be a good omen....
