Looks like a strong group with good size. I expect ACU to continue to be good along with UCA and Lamar. Can't sleep on SFA but I don't know much about their roster. The Wildcats had a strong recruiting class as well ...
Alyssa Adams 6'1" C San Antonio
Josie Larson 5'9" G San Antonio
McKayla Mabry 6'2" F San Antonio
Laura Rowe 5'8" G Houston
Kayla Galindo 5'6" G El Paso
Lexi Ducat 6'1" F Brock and Rice Will be eligible as a Jr in 2018-19

Only one starter returns, 5'8" PG Breanna Wright but 5'11" Dominique GoLightly, 6'1" Sierra Allen, and 5'10" guard Sara Williamson got a lot of minutes last year. Either 6'4" Lexi Kirgen or 6'3" Taudenciah Oluach will likely start in the post.

Like you, we are trying to replace a lot of points, rebounds, and experience. Should be a fun year. This UCA-ACU rivalry will be going on for a while, I think. (The palindrome rivalry)

http://www.ucasports.com/news/2017/11/13/womens-basketball-sugar-bears-face-highest-ranked-foe-ever-with-visit-to-no-3-baylor.aspx

SugarBears at Baylor Tuesday night...............highest ranked team we have ever played..............these are games you want to execute the fundamentals well.......

"The Lady Bears are led by 6-foot-7 junior all-american forward Kalani Brown, the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year, who averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds with a .679 field goal percentage last season. Brown had a career-high 35 points last season against a Texas team that ended the Sugar Bears' season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in March. Through two games this season, Brown is averaging 25 points and 16.5 rebounds per game, and is shooting .778 (21 of 27) from the field.

Baylor also boasts another pair of preseason All-Big 12 honorees in Lauren Cox and Kristy Wallace. Cox, a 6-4 forward, was the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year last season and named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team after earning four Big 12 Freshman of the Week accolades. Wallace, a 5-11 guard, was second in the Big 12 last season with 208 assists (5.6 per game), the fifth-highest total in Baylor history."

FINAL from Waco

UCA 15-14-16-10=55
#3 Baylor 18-23-18-25=86

BBs scored 9 down the stretch when we had 2s in the game for experience.......

Kamry Orr had 21/3/4 (NO turnovers in 39 minutes) .......wow..........Taylor Baudoin 13/9..........Kierra Jordan 11/6/2 (fouled out) .......nice night.....

SBs hit 11/12 FTs.........excellent.....BBs shot 17/22 for 77%

Shot only about 32% FGs including 8/24 3s...........BBs shot 58% FGs with 5/9 3s.......

Got outrebounded 41-23.....BBs won assists 25-10.........BBs won TOs 11-7 (both very good).....BBs won PIP by 54-12.........

Coach seemed pleased with the effort and not giving up.........

(BBs may have won the game but UCA's Livestats is WAY better than Baylor's GameTracker)

(PS- Lamar lost to BBs by 121-62)

*************************
At half, trail 29-43.........there is no quit in these SBs.............. too much BB height inside.......Orr leads with 13..........Baudoin with 8..........Jordan with 5.......shooting only 31% vs 50%+.....getting out rebounded 21-14........

Hanging tough at 29-39...... Jordan out with 2 fouls and Baudoin still in with 3......Orr has 13.....

Q2 starts with each team popping 3s.........SBs lose BB shooter in transition for open 3s and trail 18-26......good time for timeout........

After Q1 trails 15-18..........had a chance to take lead with 15 seconds to go......Orr has 7 and Jordan 5.......

Baylor goes on 6-0 run but SBs reclaim lead at 15-14.........

SugarBears playing well to start......leads 9-8 midway Q1 vs Baylor.........

SBs win over Alcorn State by 75-52...........led 45-27 at half.......then got sloppy.........

FGs: 55% v 34%
3s: 1-7/3-14
FTs: 18-24/5-10
Rebs: 35 v 33...........however, Coach was quick to point out got beat 16-9 in o-rebs.....
TOs: 14 each

Jordan double double with 20/12/1................nice night by Baudoin at 20/7/3.......Orr added 14 and Williams 10..........now 2-1.........

Next game on 11/28 after holidays at home vs Crowleys Ridge then off to Knoxville for UTK on 11/30.........will be in SEC Network Plus

UCA vs Crowley's Ridge

CR 5-7-7-4=23
UCA 28-21-26-31=106

Stats mean little here except SBs only shot 55% FTs............got to do much better.........

Now off to The Big Orange for Lady Vols on Thursday night at 6pm central. Need our best game at Kville.

@Tennessee

UCA 8-16-10-0=34
UTK 22-21-17-17=77

Shutout in Q4........wow.......probably a program first........at least we made them come from behind for the win after they trailed early (6-5).

FGs: 24% vs 50%
3s: 24% vs 38%
FTs: 50% vs 80% (plus UTK made 24 and SBs only shot 4)
Rebs: 32 v 43 (actually +3 o-rebs)
TOs: 24 v 16

Baudoin 11/7..........Sells 8/2/1.....Or and Williams had 6 points each.......Hicks grabbed 5 rebs fouling out in early 4th......

Coach: Vols pressure bothered us..........we had a couple who did not show up tonight........liked the effort of those on the floor......Taylor Sells played hard, stay focused and ran the offense......UTK coach very complimentary of her speed and play.......Vols are bigger, faster and stronger.....hard for us to get back fast enough........they are very good...........one of the best UTK has had in a while........still excited about our team but we have a very long way to go........cannot wait to get back on the floor to practice after we watch this film.......this is great atmosphere to play at.......

It's going to be a good season for the Sugarbears! I just wish we could get more quality home OOC games!

UCA vs CBC

CBC 11-9-2-12= 34 (6-3)
UCA 21-19-16-19= 75 (5-2)

Another game hard to learn much..............the 2 points in Q3 is pretty good............100% from charity stripe is excellent.........53% 3s is good but how well defended........21 assist at least shows effort to find open player.........any reason we only played 6 players in a blowout at home?

Oh well, off to College Station to play the team of the best active women's coach that used to coach in Arkansas................
