Hendrix grad, huh? Maybe (s)he's jealous...

Or maybe (s)he has nothing better to do than to stoke the fire of this whole mess by arguing semantics when it's really not relevant. UCA can rightfully claim to be "The Center of Learning" (or at least "A Center of Learning") because an education is only as good as what you put into it. I'd wager there are plenty of proud UCA alumni who are better educated and more successful than alumni from the other presitgious schools this person mentions.

I know I'll always tout my degrees from UCA and be proud of them and what they have allowed me to do. Especially since I've seen what some Ivy League grads do with their time up here in Beantown.

Just my two cents...

She must have gotten dumped by someone at UCA.

She handily forgot to mention the fact that a lot of Hendrix alumni are not exactly happy with the direction Dr. Cloyd and his crew are taking good ole' Hendrix in. I have several friends and contacts who are alumni from different eras, and most I have talked to aren't happy with some of the expansion and changes being made at the campus.

Hendrix Village?

Hendrix Football?

Academic program changes?

Increased cost of attendance to the level of ludicrous?

Let's talk about that for a bit, shall we?

Take care of your own house before you start calling out someone else for not cutting their lawn.

I'm in favor of Hendrix football. Since they are within walking distance of home, it might give me a game to see when the Bears are out of town.

I'm in favor of Hendrix football as well, but I know there are a significant number of alumni who find the idea to run counter to what they believe Hendrix is "about." They tend to be the folks from the 70s to the early 00s, but I think it's just because it's different than what they're used to and, as tolerant and accepting as they may want to seem, they are afraid of this development and how it may change the campus culture.

I look forward to attending some games with friends who are alumni and support football @ Hendrix.
